It supports DVD RIPs with full menu. :)

.NRG is not displayed in the Xtreamer media library.

So, just rename .nrg to .iso and this way it is visible in Xtreamer media library and then u can play it as a full fledged DVD. :)

This is if you don't have problem with original size of the DVD and you don't want to take out few extras.

Guys, please share how do you do it specially if you have any better and simple method to do it.

Can xtreamer play copy protected/ commercial movie DVDs from an external DVD rom connected via usb?
Can it also play blu rays from an external blu ray disk connected via usb. Please respond asap.
 
Question for the Xtreamer owners.
How does it work as a streaming only device over 802.11g ? If you have a laptop/desktop at your home already, how good is it at pulling media from those PCs ? Or do you need to upgrade to a 802.11n ?

Does the process become better if you are using something like Tversity TVersity - Home?
 
802.11g works fine, i have been streaming files through wireless on the same and never faced any issues.

If you dont mind explaining to a noob, whats the process of sharing files/folders from any PC ?
You just do windows share and Xtreamer finds the folder ?

That's right, i have shared my movies folder in my pc, through the xtreamer i log in to my pc putting username and password and save it as a short cut . then u can access the folder and play files from it.
 
Well if it is that much important to you i think you can try this -

You can share a DVD drive on the network and use AnyDVD on that PC and play that DVD. Here AnyDVD running on the PC strips the content protection on the fly for you.

So the above should work if you really want to play a content protection disk.

I don't have a BR drive to test, if someone can test out the same and report out it will be great

Personally why go through so much trouble, what i did was asked my friend to copy the disk files on a hdd and you can play from there and it worked fine.

I ordered through xtreamer.india and received my eTrayz during the week. I will start configuring it tomorrow:yahoo:.

Something I noticed is that the new antenna that I got with it has a larger packing and also says Wireless 300 Mbps(which if I am right is the 802.11 N that support 300 Meg wirelessly). Whereas from memory, the one that I got with my xtreamer when the product was launched was 150 Mbps(N draft). Can Sumit or someone confirm the news antennas are different from the earlier batch please?

Also, while comparing them side to side, my son distracted me and I mixed up both. Now I don't know which is which:lol:. From a distance, they look almost the same but have small differences in shape. Just curious:)
 
I just had a word with Mr. Sumit Kumar of Xtreamer India and he did confirm me about this new antenna which supports maximum speed of 300 Mbps whereas the older one could support maximum speed of 75mbps as it runs on 2.4 GHZ wireless technology which maxes out at 150Mbps whereas the 5 GHZ wireless technology sopports speeds upto 300 Mbps, so I assume that the new lot of Xtreamer antennas are 5 GHz band compatable which would eventually help to a lot on extent for a setup like mine where I have a dual band router and streams movies wirelessly from Etrayz to my Xtreamer.
Could anybody confirm my above assumtions?
 
We just confirmed that the packaging is new and "Wireless 300 Mbps" is printed on the box.

We have not tested this antenna so can not comment any further. However, HFV members can read the specifications from the image attached. :)

After looking at the specifications on the box its confirmed that this is just the new box packing but the antenna remains the same as the specifications are identical to the old antenna, also it doesn't support the 5 GHz Wireless frequency so the maximum thoughtput even if its mentioned 300 MBPS on the box is 150Mbps.
