Yamaha RX-V667

i also bought rx-v667 from US through e-bay, i'm fully satisfied with product. at present due to budget constraints i'm using yamaha NS-p276 6.1 speakers with it. i'm planning to build 5.1 system soon, i've read various threads, as of now i gather that mission speakers are good combination with yamaha, any sugestions?also one thing i noticed that FM in it tunes to odd frequencies ie 92.7 then 92.9-93.1..... is it a problem or otherwise US model specs.

For the FM part I also faced the same with my Car Stereo model which was purchased from US. Later I found out that there was a region setting called IF BAND which has values North America, Europe and South America & Others. Setting it to South America settled my problem and the thing now tunes Indian FMs properly with 0.1 MHz as Step Increment while tuning.

This has been answered else where, Indian FM stations operate on odd frequencies, you should not have any issues in tuning to these odd ones.

Congrats 4 your purchase. I would like to know if the sound cracks above 60% volume.

At the demo in Kolkata at sonodyne listening room ,the sales person was not eager to crank up the volume, which made me suspicious. He was using 2605V2 FLS for the demo.

I was going through the specs of RX-V667 and not clear about its capability to upscale videos. Following is the spec information i found on RX-V667 in their singapore site.

Analog to HDMI Upscaling - Yes
HDMI to HDMI Upscaling - No
Analog to HDMI Deinterlacing (480i to 480p) - Yes
Full Analog Video Upconversion to HDMI - Yes
Component Video Upconversion - No

Does the above spec mean that if my source is connected through HDMI and is of lesser resolution, AVR will not upscale it?

Can RX-V667 owners throw more light on video upscaling of rx-v667

It just means that your component out [analog source] from a device when attached via the component video port [three in component video cable that is red, blue and green] at the back of the A/V reciever will not be upconverted to HDMI.

But if attached via composite port will be up converted.
Correct me if i am wrong mods!

Please note that RX V667 do not upscale HDMI inputs that are above 480p (like 720p or 1080i) to 1080p.

Border linx is working out to abt 30k if u try...and yamaha gives international warranty as well..

Thanks, Any idea on Denon 1911 in terms of international warranty and borderlinx price? Are you planning to purchase using borderlinx?
