Experts,

I'm about to buy a 46 inch LCD and Energy take classic 5.1.

At my place, there is a 14x10 living room and a third bedroom of size 12x10.

I'm not sure where to place this 46" LCD and also whether HT would be ideal in a closed 12x10 or one side open living room.

If I place LCD in living room, will the performance of Take classic be optimum ?
Is 46" too big to place in 12x10 ?

This set up is primarily to watch movies in blu ray and for xbox games.

Pls advice. TIA

46" is quite small actually. I have a 50" TV which I watch from around 11' and believe me I find it too small and keep wishing it was much larger. Put your TV in the 12x10 room, your audio (sound field) will also be much better in a closed room.

The size preference in a way is subjective,i far one don't like to move my eyeball a lot , i.e have a big tv and sit at point blank range.

46" should be more then enough at 8 feet.

Thanks for the response.

would there be any difference btwn SD or HD content if watched from 8 feet in 12x10 room ?
Eight feet is more than enough distance for a 46" TV. At that distance you will be able to appreciate the difference between SD & HD. Personally I would not give too much weightage to SD material and would be more concerned with how HD will look. After all SD in India is pretty crap, irrespective of the source and there is not much you can do to improve on it.

PS: I f I may, could I suggest that you consider a 50" Plasma instead of the 46" LCD. You should be able to get for the same amount of money if not less. The Samsung 50C550 is a good option to look into.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
