Advice & help on EMT turntables

Thank you for the prompt reply, @anilva!

Your advice completely makes sense! I was super inpatient and earlier took out the audio board and replaced all tantalums.

This gave some positive results. I have the left channel now. Unfortunately no right channel at the headphones.

Why I say your comment makes sense is because when I looked at the cartridge things do not look very well.

I believe this is some kind of rust on the inside. Further more the sound from the left channel is not very good.
In this respect, I have another question: may I use a MM cartridge for testing purposes? If I understand correctly the service manual I should be able to use one if I remove the additional board (the pre pre amp was it called?).
This is what I have

Another thing that comes to my mind is the dust cover would not stay at the 45 degrees- just goes up and down without being fixed. Did something broke inside the hinges or am I not doing something right?
You also mentioned that there are possibly defective ICs. Which are these most commonly?
Thanks again!

PS
I thought the pot at the left side of the headphones jack is for attenuation but comes out this manipulated the speed.

Actually, doing some more research I believe the seller gave me a MM cartridge and also my unit is made for MC cartridges (right?) because of the DYN.TSD15 designation at the front. Still I am not sure if I can use a MM cartridge if I remove the daughter board.
Which ICs should I look for being defective?
