Are Philips Bluray players supporting mkv?

I found on the philips site that hx264 is supported in its blu ray players. (plz check the site, there are currently 2 blu ray players available)

does that mean its supporting mkv?

mind u, its obviously isnt divx plus, its divx ultra.

I believe,H264 is only a codec where as the MKV is a container which is like a bundled package file which can contain the HD video/audio/subs and so.
I did hear/see something like this on this league.

Yes Oppo BDP 83 plays Mkv files through the USB external storage and through the optical media.
