Hi Guys,

I am in the process of deciding on a media player and found that playback is similar as all of them carry a same chip. Now looking for features to decide.

Which of the media players are plasma TV friendly? Meaning, They have a "strech" setting which when enabled can adjust the picture output so that the actual image is streched and there are no black bars (Both Top&Bottom and sides)?

Also, Is any of the players able to down convert 1080p to 720p? Upconvert 480p/576p to 720p?

Thanks in advance.

i guess the tv itself should be able to do all the "stretching" jobs that you may require. you will be able to get a "full screen", no matter what the input signal from the player.

most 720p tvs (probably all of them) should be able to downscale 1080p signals. and they will certainly be able to upscale lower resolutions to 720p.

basically, not to worry at all on these counts.
