Astonia Audio PS-2000 Subwoofer Review

As per the AVMax review, it does seem to be good value for money, my question is, how much would you pay for it? I mean, when compared to foreign brands, which price bracket would it fall into? I intend to use it for music and my room is an "L" shape with dimensions of 15x11ft and 10x11ft (if the room is split into 2 sections - see pic) I was wondering whether to go for a Bookshelf/Sub combo or just a floorstander. (Budget - 28k)

I can say velodyne surpasses in music terms of fatigue less bass. But astonia rules the movies with tight crisp bass. But not bad with music either.

There are very few options for good subs under 20K in India. Astonia is VFM in our current market. If we had an open global market and no import duties, they you could get the Velodyne Impact 10 or some other better sub for the same price ($250).

Its great that firms like Norge, SonoDyne, Astonia etc are providing some affordable options for HiFi in India, but IMO they still have lot of ground to cover to offer the quality and performance of similarly priced budget Hi-Fi products in developed markets.

I have not auditioned Polk SUB nor sonodyne Roar 210. So i cannot comment and compare. The only sub which i auditioned was Velodyne impact 10 and Sonodyne Roar II (which i owned). This Astonia sub is a big bang for the buck. That i can assure you!

I am very much interested in Astonia Sub after good reviews in Av max.
But then my livin room is around 21 x 14 feet........does this astonia sub will suffice for a great movie experience.....
And suppose if I purchase two units and place them side by side...what effect will I get and does the sound will be more higher and better or should I go for some other Sub with higher power.........

Side by side wouldn't work well. OR worst case place it at diagonal ends of the room. Or you might have to do a sub-woofer hopping. Google on it to find more info.

Just saw the specs on their website. Says the frequency response is 20-150Hz +/-1dB. Sounds too good to be true for 12.5k. Can anybody verify this?

Plus, how about the SPL on this sub? No info about that anywhere.

Since they've mentioned that this new df-10 is part of a series I wonder whether there'll be a beefier 12" sub coming out soon?

Plus can any proud owners or demoers confirm the specs they've given on the website.

I am not sure if we will get to audition it until they have a dealership in major cities.

Going by the ownership of PS2000, this should definitely be better... Hope so..
