AVR for best movie experience

Is there any place I can get good deal on Marantz SR7009?

Also, local shop to listen in Hyderabad.

If you can opt for Marantz SR 7008 then you might save substantially and if you can overlook Dolby Atoms & the new video features if any....

Try to get in touch with hifimart, you might get good deals...

Usually all shop should give u 10 per off

Which speaker u would be pairing it to and why u opting for 7009... Any specific feature

I have Polk-R50/R30/R15. I am not a frequent upgrader. My current AVR HK-635 was purchased almost 8-9 years back. With 7009 I am more interested in the HDMI 2.0 than anything else to future proof my investment.

As I said above, I want to go with 7009 instead of 7008 for HDMI 2.0 and not atoms. I am quite happy with 7.1 setup and not planning to upgrade it for some couple of years.

for people looking for upgrade or another setup up at home, is it wise to wait for say another 6-8 months to see if we would get Dolby Atmos enabled in entry-mid level receivers as right now it is only available in top ends.

also will there be effect to hear dolby atmos sound in current speaker set up only or is it only worth if you have dolby atmos enabled speakers?

If Atmos matters to you, you can wait for some more time... But i see there are AVR from Onkyo in the Midrange which are Dolby Atmos enabled... Other AVR should follow soon & in the next 2 -3 years you can find in all midrange AVR's....

Dolby atmos requires you to put the speakers in the ceiling.... Which might be tough for many... So Dolby enabled speakers might be the solution for the time being until manufactures design speakers that can be put on the ceiling...

If you just need HDMI 2.0 the why not consider 5009... It had all its HDMI as 2.0 and is much cheaper

I was just comparing with 7008. Another key feature I want is the 2+1 HDMI out. My home theater room have both TV (for light viewing) and projector so I need dual HDMI output. Also, I am planning to run zone-2 HDMI cable form AVR to my TV in living room which is right next to HT room. Since all my equipment (BD, TS and now AVR) have phone app, I can easily control it form the living room as well.

2 HDMI out is even present in 5009, I suggest you carefully look at all features of 5009, except Dolby atmos and 11.2 channels it seriously has some impressive high 3nd features

I also needed 2 HDMI out for my TV and projector which I am planning for future

Also 2 sub Pre out

Else compare with 6009... That one is also quite cheaper than 7009

Yes,but its not zone2 HDMI out.Its simultaneous out.

As I said before I need 3 HDMI out in 2+1 mode. I am missing the zone 2 HDMI the most today and is one of the key reason to upgrade.

Even though 6009 has zone 2 HDMI but it lacks 2 main room HDMI out.

Okay I am thinking from price point of view...7009 will cost around 1.35l or more and 6009 around 82 83k. ...its almost 50k difference in which we can actually buy a new avr :)

It's not about another AVR but the other devices connected to it. I have region free Oppo 103D. Just this one is worth 50k, if I buy two of these. Also, some time I record on one TataSky and then want to watch it in living room with family. So in my mind it's worth little more.

Also I hope to get some more discount bring it down close to 1L. I hope it works out. I am not in hurry.

Well it's MRP is around 1.5l and 10 per is the normal discount u get on stores anyways but on HiFiMART.com they sometime gives 20 per which is the max u will get coz it's the latest model for this year

Also u may consider 7008 if everything u want is in there coz you may get good discount on it as its last year's model

But which one u buy I must say marantz is the best choice in AVR... I am highly impressed with my 5009

okay guys after a week of so of having sr5009, I must say its sound quality is a huge improvement on my denon 1912

also I am finding music sounds fantastic through my psb speakers...anyone using this or any other marantz AVR just for pure music listening

I am wondering what quality to expect when having a dedicated music amp, anyone can throw some light on it, just for music

also I was lucky to get it for 62700 now its 70k even om hifimart

got new sr5009. All fine except, finding audio drop issues while playing d2h or blu ray movies which are directly connected to AVR. can anyone please help how to fix this. Firmware update also done today, but it wasn't solving this issue

Did u had firmware update when u checked and after update which version u r on?

Try switching off everything for 3 4 mins then switch back in again and try only the DTH... For me all my 4 5 stuffs works perfect no such audio issues

Yes. Done all that. I did the firmware update even before testing. So not sure if it's was newer issue. Thinking to factor rest if nothing else works

factory reset didn't solve the issue either :(

will have to check what is causing the issue of audio dropping for a second inbetween... It plays fine while hearing TV Audio. It's only when I play via AVR (the D2h or blu ray), this issue crops up

Try changing HDMI port in AVR connect DTH and bluray to other HDMI ports
