I think captain has misunderstood me ..What I'm not able to decide is whether to go for a sub or the sonic caps upgrade for the Encore since cash is the limiting factor ....cant hv both together ..So hv to decide whether to take the sub drivers or to get the cap upgrade and forget the sub for the time being ..

Well, shipping (per person) is going to be pretty reasonable because of how much is being ordered.

If you order subs later then shipping will be high because of how much it weighs. If you later decide to upgrade your speakers with Sonicaps, they don't weigh anything and can be dropped into the mail.

Are the speakers being discussed here rear ported or sealed? I could not figure out by looking at wetpaint pics.

X-LS, X-LS Encore , and X-Omni are all rear ported.

X-CS, X-CS Encore, X-Statik, and X-Voce are all a sealed box designs.

In the future you can still build a dual sub version, but all of the woofers will be SW-12-04's (4 ohm) and the amp will have two channels. So each woofer has it's own amp sharing the same control system.

we had this subwoofer driver (SW-12B) discussed sometime back, for it having a foam surround & the environment here being non conducive to the driver

You can run two of the SW-12B woofers on one SA-1 amp since the SW-12B's aer 8 ohm woofers. Just add another $99.

I am assuming that the upgrades to crossover can be done later.
