Hi, Pl suggest a good AV receiver PSB T6 (other than NAD). I know that NAD pairs well with it. How about Marantz as NAD is very expensive and is not coming under my budget. I cannot spend more than 60-70k for receiver.

I dont want a stero amp as I will add the reminaing components soon.

I couldnt find any thread related to this speaker, ie y I am posting it here. pl help me out.

Pioneer LX57 should fit the bill. Prices have gone up for the Pioneer models recently so not sure what it sells for currently, but will find out & keep you posted.

Hey Binish,

You can surely go with NAD 748 A/V receiver. I guess it has enough power to feed to monster T6. You can surely DEMO it for your ears. It would be somewhere around 50K.

you can also consider Marantz AVR's... They are very good for stereo listening... You can look for models in hifimart.com for your budget..

I even had a qoute for Marantz SR 7008 at 1,04,000. Kinda very expensive but worth it is what they said. But Marantz has no service back up in chennai...

They do have... The distributors for chennai is the contact for service... I spoke to them once and got this information.

BTW if you want a 3rd person to do servicing, you can get it done from My. Syed (Philips - Mount Road) showroom.... Very experienced & knowledgeable person.....

AutoNode.in seems to be the official distributors for Marantz? I was told by a dealer at mylapore too that they are the distributors for most brands now. They told other than Yamaha and Pioneer no one else has service back up in Chennai.

Hmmm.....May be the distribution changed hands....

As far as i know Onkyo was the first to establish service in chennai since 1996 - 2000 :)... One of my friend used to have Onkyo Personal Theater system (PTS called then)... So i remember he taking it to the service center there in Alwarpet..

Psb speakers can go with most of AV receivers without any issue.I heard Onkyo 608 and Yamaha 667 with B6,and both sounded good showing their sound signatures.
Did not feel that I was missing anything.Nad AVR sounded a bit warmer.

Do anyone have experience of using Denon x2100/x3100 or the Marantz 6009 AVRs with a speakers similar to PSB X2Ts (erstwhile PSB 6)?

Would these have heating, tripping issues if paired with the power hungry

X2Ts? Im planning to buy the speakers but unsure about the AVR!

Any suggestions would be very welcome..!!

Thanks guys.

Im evaluating Denon X3100 (95k), Onkyo 828 (90-100K) and Marantz SR6009 (80k) for the PSB X2T FS speakers, without any power amp attached.

Here are a few considerations:

- Onkyo has a marginally muffled sound compared to Denon & the AccuEQ is not that great either. Read on issues with the HDMI boards soldering coming off due to heating for predecessor models. Yet, in terms of features (ATMOS & 135w/channel) & price on offer, Onkyo seems like a loaded option for the price.

- Marantz isnt known to be bright enough for movies though is a clear winner for music. SR 6009 is also high on features (wireless & otherwise). The upside with Marantz is the Audyssey XT, general overall reliability and will balance the sound of the PSBs. My 2 concerns - heard of issues where the unit would be "hanging" alot & that its 110 watt/channel. But "spirovious" mentions its worth the try.

- Denon AVr X3100 is fully loaded on features and is a good choice for movies & music alike. Considering its a slightly bass heavy AVR and that X2Ts have somewhat lacking bass (compared to Paradigm 11s), this may work out to be a better match. An Audyssey Gold advanced DSP & delhi based after sales service office is a big plus. Only concern - given the Marantz and Onkyo, this one is on the higher price (95k) bracket with lower output per channel 105 watts per channel. The Denon dealer says the 105 is "pure & raw output" unlike the others - whatever that means!!

Dropped the NAD option - low features & almost 1.25k

Any suggestions would be welcome on WHICH ONE IS SUITABLE - please consider the observations as well.

Big thanks to all
