Both tweeters stopped working

Hi all
Strange coincidence I posted msg for replacing tweeters and ... current tweeters stopped working.

I used my system for building's Ganesh festival. Now I bought it back to my room and found both tweeters not working (Peerless TL26SG). I took out one and checked with multimeter.

Need help from FM on below points:
Is there any other way to check and confirm that tweeters are spoiled. Because both stopped working at same time.
If its coil is burnt out, then can it be replaced? Any shops in Mumbai / Hyderabad to do so?

Was it playing at 100% volume for extended period of time? Was it in a hall or open area?

Yes MaSh, it played with 100% volume and long time in open area, All three conditions true.

Damn. Worst case scenario man. Tweeters are the first to go when amps on full tilt, maybe even clipping. Test your other drivers too.

They are the first to blow when an Amp is over driven to the point of clipping

Unfortunately your tweeters might be ready for visarjan! I hope they were not expensive...

TL26SG cost around Rs. 1200/-,did you connect them with a xover or atleast with a capacitor,if not its surely blown,one possible way to check is with a multimeter for connectivity of coil,you can also check if there is any break in wire between the coil to the
speaker terminals.

instead of rewinding the coil,its better to purchase a new one for better sound reproduction,as the cost between reparing and buying a new one will not be much difference.

Yes Rajesh those were connect via crossover.
Any good tweeter recommendations from Peerless? TL25SN, SR10DT looks good. TL25SN got some good reviews.

Any other brad gives better results in similar price range? Earlier tweeters were Peerless TL26SG.

Diyaudiocart has Dayton tweeters in around 1000 range. Are those better?

Another option I am trying : Since I have to buy new drivers, thinking of trying full range. I already have 8"Boston full range. but not happy with bass response. Any recommendations on full range

TL26SG is an excellent tweeter provided your xover point is above 2.5khz and below 100w of power,2nd best choice is TL25SN silk dome tweeter (50w rms its power handling) has lots of good reviews,but dont go for SR10DT,Dayton DC28F is also great but costly.

Earlier version of TL26SG Where manufactured in denmark was topclass when compared to the new ones now avilable are from peeless india plant at Seepz,Andheri (E) ******Mumbai Maharashtra.
