I am using the Panny BDP 220, the DVDs are not 10GB, normal street ones. The downloaded clips look stunning thou... I will start collecting BDs or rips from now on...

Yes, most of the Tamil Blu- ray discs that are available in Burma Bazaar Chennai for 100 -150 seems to use only the 10GB mkv rips.

As most of the Original discs comes in 50GB discs but here we get all the movies in 25GB disc.

There is also 50GB discs for tamil movies available and cost around 350, planning to get 1 25GB and 1 50 GB of the same movie to see the difference in quality.

Checked on US pricing . Epson seems to have better pricing in India than US .

Yes that is one of the reason I went in for the Epson TW 8100. Buying a Benq w1070 for 90K here did not make sense when it availble for less than 900 dollars.

I have posted some pictures in my thread though the photos I have posted do not do justice for the picture quality you can still view to get a fair idea,

Please share where we can get tamil movies (HD - 25 to 50 GB) for Rs.350?

Will surely try out !!

Hang on! There are good quality BD rips sized avg 8-12GB that gives you excellent quality (with video bit rate like 25-35mbps and audio 1.5mbps). personally i watch these ones (and not lesser sized like <6GB). Of course nothing like a BD but still these are not definitely a waste (even I had this notion before understanding the technicalities of mkv files). Yes, DVD's are no-no here.

Will try .

All opinions are hinting towards 3LCD which can be considered as a Heroine !!! What say ???

Go to projectorreviews.com site. Go through each of your sortlisted projector. (Need not to read entire review)

Dowload similar picture and then compare with each other by using 'ALT+TAB' symultaneously.

e.g. Below one is Epson 5020

The next one is BenqW7000

Just sharing, This is the method i have used to finalize my heroine.

Heroine on a bad wall at less than 30K :) You can make the heroine look better with a screen, good source like bluray and a good bluray player.
