great results..congrats..

Dada, The performance is much better than the pics I posted. I could not capture it properly in the play mode. 2D->3D was amazing with one of the best brighter side of pic I have seen recently. So assuming that real 3D would be awesome. Could see some frame interpolation issue in the fast action scene. Guess post calibration, It would be resolved as it has FI setting option (though CFI is not there). Does any other TW6100 owner faced the same issue in fast action scenes ?

I am the one who has suggested Pioneer Screens from time to time. I have seen Pioneer & Grandview side by side & failed to find any diff between the screen material... Also my Uncle rents out DJ equipments in Mumbai & he was the one who suggested Pioneer screens to me. The main reason for it was that pioneer uses mostly metal internal parts while other brands like grandview use plastic parts... My uncle uses them commercially so durability is a big priority for them... Another reason I am leaning towards Pioneer was that they can custom build the size I want(my dad wants 170-180 inches motorized)...Plus they have a very VFM price structure... like when I enquired you could get a 120inch motorized for about 11-12k which I thought was an amazing vfm proposition...

Oh...Thats really attractive pricing for the same quality grandview. Do they have dealers or is it a D2C selling ?

u will get fantastic shots.
pause a scene.
place camera on a table or stool etc..just exactly front of screen..
set timer 10 sec 5 sec etc
night mode/dark mode on
flash off
press..

btw talking about cheap cameras..like i have..if you have good cameras..there are endless manual settings you can try..

I had gone to the Pioneer workshop myself for the screen for the same pj. They suggested Grandview to me,do no why. Finally bought the Grandview 120 inch manual screen. It's a great screen btw and is good for the pj.

How much is grand view 120" for ? I got a quote of around 15 k for elite 120". While testing the PJ on the wall, I think I can go with the budget screen for now and might go for a premium one sometime later ! With a matt finish off white or creamish shaded wall, Epson was still awesome !
Howz screen like like logic/ liberty in sub 7k pricing ?
With new job in hand, time for personal entertainment will be compromised a lot for a year or so !

What say guys ?

Also has anyone heard about Kramer brand of HDMI cables ?

Great colorful pictures MZB. Congtrats.!
IMO, GrandView is better/equal to elite. Da-Lite is above the level of Elite/Grandview.
But brand alone will not decide, you need to consider the various types of materials each brand selling. (Projector & Screen both together can give you good output. Some thing like Hero & Heroine)

For HDMI, do not compramise (It will directly impact PQ), buy a good one such as Belkin if it is shorter length.

I got the Grandview for 12k in May'13.

Is it 16:9 or 4:3 ? 5x9 / 6x8 - as most dealers talk about . Please PM me dealers name and contact .

Thanks Swamy. Pics posted is 10% of the actual PQ of PJ. I could not capture it properly but still posted it . Saw Avatar 3D today (Scenes only) and OMG, The 3D was wowsome with a lil bit ( Unnoticable ) of cross talk. I missed the 3D in theatre. I must say Avatar is made only for 3D experience. Any HT 3D collection without Avatar is incompelete. Also the strain I felt in other PJ demo in 3D was absolutely missing with 6100.

Kramer seems to be a good brand. Only few big dealers keeping it. Audioquest/monster normally recommended by the dealers at Pune are in the range of 20k+.Do not make sense !!

Hi, today got the delivery of 15ft HDMI flat cable. Bought from ebay for testing, working without any problem. Now the price ???? INR 490.00 :) there is no mistake in the decimal placement.

MZB,

Do not go for cheap screen.

1. Do not consider C-Type,B-Type,eZframe,Sable Frame...etc --> All are variation in Frame constuctions and the quality of the frame.

2. Consider only the screen material (e.g. CineWhite,Cinema Vision, HCCV..etc)

3. You can buy only the screen material from GEBAY. There are lot of DYI screen materials from reputed brands available in GEBAY with lower cost. With the carpentor/FM help you can DYI screen.

Thanks a lot swamy. Unfortunately do not have any spare time for DIY . If possible could you please check Elite site and whether the spectrum series fits into Cinewhite / Cinema vision etc ? I remember their texture finish ie mattwhite. Can't recall mentioning of things like cinewhite etc !

I recently auditioned Liberty Manto (9k) and Grandview (14k) . I couldn't spot difference in PQ. Liberty Manto appeared to be rough though. But the quality of grandview was way better than liberty manto; be it the screen material or construction. Grandview also comes with speed reducing system. Go with grandview. I was also considering a budget screen earlier but ended up with grandview. Its a one time thing after all.

Okay Guys ! Will go with either Grandview or Elite ( spectrum series )
Have still not freezed on HDMI brand as yet !

Spectrum series will support "MaxWhite (or) AcousticPro1080P2" materials.

Spectrum Series

Type of screen example: Accessories - Screen Material

Thanks. Which one would you recommend. Maxwhite is the most readily available .

IMO, Maxwhite. (Acousticpro 1080P2 for placing speakers behind screen, and you may tend to see the screen during some scenes due to the texture)

Lucky to get an year old & almost unused VueMax, 120", 16:9, Matt White, Motorized PJ screen for 7k !!! :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

Its thick. Do not flutter with fan running in low speed ( 5ft from the Screen ). Quality is awesome. Everything working as good as new.

Epson TW6100 and VueMax compliments each other perfectly.

Bought 15M DAC HDMI High Speed, Ethernet Cable for 5.5k.

600 INR for fabrication (2 similar U shape brackets)/Installation/ Carpenter charges for Screen mounting on the same wall as LCD .

In all Isnt 13k for all these a good deal ?

Tomorrow, Installation of the PJ (Most probably on shelf) & Black out curtain blinds for the window.

And I will be through ...... 5 months for the complete set up is a long time !!!

Next is acoustics / Dark Paints on the ceiling and Recliners. All post March'14.

I am also considering to buy TW8100 or 6100
after a month of watching 6100 beauty do you think its better to extend budget to buy 8100?

Have "Cinema like" experience with 6100?

The lens adjustment feature in 8100 is worth it. Rest nothing would matter much. Getting adjustment of 6100 for the first time is a tough job to do but once done with fixed mountings it is a good to go PJ !

PQ is of 6100 cinema like. Could not notice much difference with 8100. Not much adjustments to do ! Out of box setting itself is good enough. I have used a bit of Key Stone adjustment and could not find any difference in PQ. If you have good BDP with up scaling feature than even DVD's look excellent. Had read somewhere that PJ's are for Blu Rays so was worried but now enjoying my DVD's collections as well. 3D brightness is superb and PQ is awesome with a lit bit of cross talk in 3D in fast scenes which would otherwise be there in every home theatre PJ I think. TV watching is good only in HD channels. But watching HD channels on a Big Screen is an experience. I was watching a premier league soccer match a few days ago and it was like watching it live in the stadium coz their camera movement was so close and clear !! Samsung 3D glass worth Rs 1300 goes well with it and no need to buy extra and expensive Epson glasses as in 3D feature is just for the sake of it and you would hardly watch 3D movies. the service of Epson is excellent. Out of curiosity I called them for some adjustment I was not able to do and they came next day at the time I was convenient with. The SQ of the speakers too are decent with stereo effect ( better than any LCD/LED). Clear PQ with ambient lights ( not with tube lights on of course).

I think you will not regret buying either of the 2. And go for maximum size screen your room and watching distance can accommodate. Bigger the better !!!
