Connect Philips HTS3000 (10 yr old) to Tata Sky Or Samsung 40" LED

Hello Guys,
This is my first thread here. Will try to obey all the rules.

I have a 10 yr odd old Philips HTS system. I want to use it to connect to my TataSky STB along with the Samsung 40" LED TV.

The problem is that the AVR of the HTS3000 has RCA input (6 channel analog) and the STB/TV has got only optical outputs. The STB has got a RCA out bu I guess its stereo (two channels).

Shall I buy the 3-4K Rs 5.1 decoder or is there any other way to make use of this HTS for the current setup?

Is it worth to buy this unit? I am not sure how good is my Philips HTS3000 to invest more 3-4K in it? Also I am not sure how good it will work - there are mixed reviews for some brands.

Any specific brand or make that anyone has tried and found useful for the decoder?

Shall I buy from Aliexpress to save some bucks? Any experience regarding the same will be helpful.

If you can get from Aliexpress for 1.5k it is justifiable, otherwise spending 4k for a 10 yr old HTib may not be justified. Especially if you plan to upgrade the home theater system anytime soon. But be prepared for a month's delay in the product reaching you, if you order from Aliexpress.

I see following versions for the decoder on aliexpress - 1m4mm, 2m4mm, 1m2mm.

Can someone explainthis to me? Is it for the spdif wire? Which one shall I choose?

This is pertaining to the dimensions of the optical cable supplied. Best is to ask the seller.
