This is what i have now

Polk CS10 Center channel
Polk PSW125 Sub

This is what I've in my mind

Marantz SR 6008

Please let me know your thoughts .

Thanks in advance !

Hello Arjun,
Both the selection of the AVR and Speakers are great and are huge upgrades comparing to where you are coming from.
Are you buying them in India or getting them from abroad? I am also in the process of upgrading my system so let me know if you got any good deal on them. Thanks.
Regards,
Sachin

Great that you want to upgrade your gear....

Could you please share pointers why you chose Marantz 6008 & Zensor over your existing set-up....

Thanks for your reply ! I'm buying from India. Got a deal from HiFimart for SR6008 - 65K . lemme know if you're interested.
Dali seems to be little expensive and only available in techno guru
Zensor 5 - 49900 & Zensor 7 - 64900

Actually both Marantz & Denon belongs to D&M Holdings but operating as 2 individual brands. May be the QA process will be different. Marantz has got upper-hand when it comes to audio quality due to Marantz proprietary HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) circuits, Current Feedback technology etc ( As per the specs & review )

Also my Denon 1612 was little under power for the TSi400 ( 75W @ 8ohm)

So what i'm thinking is to just replace the Denon with Marantz first along with the speaker & Sub cables.

For speaker i'm getting QED classic 79 & for sub QED performance cable.

Yes Marantz is good for stereo..... But not really sure if you will notice the difference because of the extra added components.....

if you are not satisfied with stereo performance, i would suggest you to build a stereo system seperately & leave this as it is....

If you are using this to listen to primary HT & need a good amplifier, then choose Marantz SR 7008... A 9.2 Amplifier & a full Audysset Kit for room correction.... YOu can retain the same speakers & replace only the AVR....

I think you could opt for the cheaper SR 5008. If you really want more power for your speakers, an outboard power amp is the way to go.

I have a Denon 2213 and a Marantz 5007. I cannot make out any difference in power between the two. Yes, there is a difference in the way things sound true.

My priority is like 90% Movies & 10% Music. And the reason why i choose SR6008 is because of the following reason

1) Dual HDMI out
2) Power out - 110W against the 75 W on my Denon 1612
3) Video up-scaling

Both 7008 & 7007 is out of my budget. (Saving something for the future Speaker upgrades )

Only one HDMI out for 5008.

Ok...Juz a thought for you....Instead of spending on both AVR & speakers, it is better to spend on top end AVR like SR 7008 & retain the speakers....

It is a 9.2 AVR... You have the option of adding more additional speakers like front wide, front height which will enhance your movie watching experience since 90% of the time you watch movies.....

Thanks for the reply elangoas. I think front wide/front height is available in 6008 as well but not both together. 7008 is 1L+ and 6008 is 65K.

Yes..35K is huge difference.. Perfectly fine... But just try to find a dealer & negotiate for the price...Am sure they will come down on the pricing.... So you will have to find the best price... If they offer anything less & if you can afford, take chances...

Actually 1L for 7008 was after 15 K discount (Assuming). Price on website is 1.15L

The 6008 price was after discount. Hopefully the 110 W on Marantz can make some difference to my HT. I'm replacing the speaker & Sub cables too.
