According to the ProFX website, Denon 1311 will be available from 20th September, priced at 25ks (I'm sure, can be negotiated). The features are quite similar to 1611. And, there is a Denon headphone free too!!!
Interesting.
I am wondering whats the difference b/w 1311 and 1611.
HMDI CEC can be a useful feature to control your HDMI connected components through one another. For example, you can change the volume of the receiver by using the TV remote volume controls, switch off the receiver and BD/DVD player when you switch off the TV and so on.
I say " can be" because in real life, it does not always work as it should and I have disabled the feature in my system.
The Audio Return channel can help you reduce an extra digital audio cable coming in from the TV for sources that you have directly connected to the TV, but that would only be of use if you have HDMI 1.4 support on your TV to begin with.
In that case, I don't think it is worth spending 6-8K extra just for these features.
Actually I am planning to purchase and had almost made up my mind to go for 1611 (or the cheaper 1610 if available anywhere). And then comes this new 1311 model with identical features as 1611.
My only suspicion is that if MRP of 1311 is appx 25K compared with 1611 at 32K, there must be some other catch which is we are missing to justify such a huge price gap. Otherwise, why would anybody (or atleast most) buy 1611 instead of 1311?
