Hi there,

Please help me in choosing an AVR. My shortlisted ones are either:

1.Denon 1610 (Denon USA | AVR-1610) or
2.Yamaha 365 (RX-V365 - AV Receivers/Amplifiers - Products - Yamaha Asia / Middle East / Africa / Oceania / Latin America)

I would use it with Polk tsi200 bookshelf speakers (Polk Audio - TSi Series Loudspeakers) and one polk PSW110 subwoofer (Polk Audio - PSW Series Explosive Performance of Movies and Music).

I am not too much into movies. I want something focused on english music primarily and occasionaly DVD action movies.

Prices in bangalore:

Denon 1610 (Silver colour) + Polk tsi 200 and polk sub PSW110 = 49000 Rs
Yamaha 365 = 16500 Rs

My doubts are:

1.Are the prices which i got competitive? Is there room for bargaining?

2.With musical performance desired, will the yamaha sound as good as the Denon?

3. What are the features that i will be missing if i choose the Yamaha over Denon?

4. Any disadvantages if i buy the silver colour denon like fading or something ? As the black is costlier by 3k more

The total difference between denon and yamaha package will be 8k.

Thanks in advance,
Lalu

If you are more inclined towards music listining then why don't you buy an integrated amp instead of an AVR. Whereas if you are planning to build yourself a theatre setup then its ok.

An AVR whether Denon or Yahama could never do justice to music listining whereas a Stereo Integrated might do wonders with the same expenditure.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
