DIY- AV sharing in my home

Hi Guys,

I have been reading various posts on this forum and this has encouraged me for doing my own project in my new home.

Here is my plan.
- Have a centralized place where all my input devices such as STB, BRP, playstation and HT
- Share this inputs to 4 different desitnations (HDMI destination)
- Use CAT 6 cables and 4X4 HDMI Metrix
- IR Repeaters

My plan is have 2 CAT6 cables in each room. Use CAT6 to HDMI converters at destination.

I am not sure how to have 5.1 or 7.1 can be trasfered to destination.

It would be great if experts can share your thoughts on my plan and if any changes are required.
