DIY Enclosure/Cabinet for PowerAmp & PreAmp

yeah ofcourse. Completing the metal work is one part and another part is
Face plate acrylic work.

Since both these things are not get done from the same vendor, can only give the actual price after both these gets completed.

Then another thing we need to count is as follows:

1. Screws, hex allen bolts , nuts etc.
2. Bush, RCA, binding post, power socket, switch and things like that

we will be making the holes and other cuts taking the dimensions of MX components so majority of us can follow the same standard.

Actually this is a matter we all need to discuss and finalize.

I prefer to use MX than imported ones, Atleast we can promote our Inidan brands in that way.

Anyway its once call.

Yesterday I went to the sheet metal workshop to see the completed work, the preamp cabs are ready but i am not satisfied with the finish of the powder coating. There were small dots and they had agreed to repeat the powder coating after sand blasting the current layer. So mostly on Monday or Tuesday they will finish their work.

Posting here few pics i took yesterday on my mobile. Sorry for the poor quality of the images.

The cabinets are looking good Bibin. Let us hope that the next version comes out even better after the final powder coating.

And the price too, if we were to start a group buy.

The cost for the metal cab with acrylic front and back panel will be near to 2K not more than that. This is based on the rough estimate i received from the vendors today. Cost for components like Knobs, switches, RCA, Power Jack, Power cord etc are not included in this.

Please let me know who all are interested.

Thanks,
Bibin

Excellent !!

Please post dimention of the cabinet, so that we may check its suitability for our purpose.

regarding pre-amp cabinet- whether volume pot/selector switch will be tightened on the arcylic board itself ?

Regards,

Vipin.

Yes, the pot and the rotary selector will be mounted on the acrylic.

Thanks,
Bibin

Sure i will post the images soon. Few minor works are pending like mounting the source selector LED on the front panel.

Thanks,
Bibin

Guess you are using the 2nd pole of the rotary switch for the LEDs. That's
what I envisaged for the group buy board. Will be interesting to see
the wiring. Audiodoc seems to have done it quite neatly in his build.
