Epson 8350 Or Mitsubishi HC 4000

ZZZ Actually as soon as you posted the US price of 5010 something smelled fishy to me...Once again it feels like I have put my foot in my mouth... I had read on some online review on some blog that TW5900 is same as 3010 in the US & TW6000 was similar 5010... Now that I have compared all these models by opening amazon.de & amazon.com side by side, it turns out that actually TW6000 is actually same as 3010 in the US & TW5900 is actually a bit lower than 3010 in configuration... My deepest apologies for misleading you all in above statements... I have tried to list the different configurations below so that others are not misled like myself....

TW3600/ 8350 Contrast 50000:1 2000 Lumens
TW5900/No US model Contrast 20000:1 2000 Lumens
TW6000/ 3010 Contrast 40000:1 2200 Lumens
TW9000/ 5010 Contrast 200000:1 2400 Lumens

Although this might be true I still stand by my statement that we should buy the TW6000 from India instead of the US... The thing is many dealers will be able to sell these projectors at a discounted rate to us & expecting a product for a discounted price of 15-20% on its MRP is not a lot to expect... So If we are able to get a price quote of less than a 1 lac it would still be better than buying the US & shipping it to India considering the warranty & such that we are getting on it... Who knows maybe we can organize a group buy if we can get a outrageous price quote like less than Rs 85000.... There is one more thing I have been thinking about... If they have kept the MRP of TW6000(which is 3010) at Rs 1.1Lacs then what must be the MRP of the TW3600(which is 8350 int he US)... Surely just by applying basic logics its MRP should be less than 80K... Anyway just something to ponder on for future buyers...
I would like to add another correction-
TW9000 is 6010 (and not 5010)
TW8000 is 5010
I am assuming that neither of above two models are available in India with bill & warranty.

Any idea about the cost of TW9000 (6010) in India?

Considering 1.4L for TW8000 (5010), I would like to know whether the additional features worth the extra money.

I haven't heard of TW9000 being available in India.
There don't seem to be any takers for TW8000 here in this forum either

Thanks for the reply

Few forum members are interested in TW8000. Even I am considering the same.

I found on another forum that TW9000(6010) comes with additional accessories like mount, cable enclosure, additional buld, glasses, additional warranty etc. Many are ready to pay 400$ extra, but some reported that the difference is around 800$.

I would like to know what is the difference in India.

There is a TW4500 available in India which also has 200000:1 contrast ratio. Not sure it maps to which model in US. Any idea ?

Also in general any recommendation for 2D only (i.e. beyond which there will be no noticeable difference in 2D viewing only) ?

Planning to demo TW4500/6000/8000 soon. Would have preferred a Pana AE7000, though very badly priced in India. Am also looking at 50ST50 :)

Thanks.

Hmm the model break down as far as I no is as follows:-
TW4400=8500UB(Top model for epson in 2010)
TW4500=8700UB(Last years top model)
TW8000=5010 (this years top model...)

The only diff between the TW4500 & TW8000 is 3D on TW8000... Picture quality vise they are somewhat almost identical... If u can get it in the 1 lac range & dont care about 3D then it is a fantastic projector...Chk out this video reviews by Art from Projectorreviews.com ... I like this guys reviews coz he mostly talks both on the technical & non technical(layman) point of views...

Thanks for this info Rajadeep.

I have no interest in 3D, so TW4500 is looking quite interesting.
I tried 3 dealers in Bangalore, but none seems to have any Epson cinema projector for demo !!

Also which brand with 2.35:1 screen is available in Bangalore ?

Can anybody suggest me a dealer who has a Epson demo setup , with proper screen etc ?
Most told me they have no setup. One told me there is a setup and endup up showing me benQ that too on a bare side wall!!!

Did you check with Sitec Technologies Pvt Ltd, Koramangala. While i was enquiring found that none had the demo setup. Sitec guys told me that they can provide demo at their office later as the piece went for some other place for the demo. This had happened a month back.
