Epson TW6000 or anything else?

Hi guys,

Looking to finalize on my first ever PJ purchase and is Epson TW6000 the best bet for me under the 1L budget? Got a quote of around 95k for the same with NO 3D glasses from Exodus.

1.Usage is 70% Bluray playback and 30% HD gaming.I have a more than decent collection of Untouched and FHD rips and BD discs.

2.Would prefer 3D as well since it warrants attention among family members.Also, since spending a lac, don't wanna have cousins come over and sneer seeing no 3D.

3.No dedicated room,but can make the hall as dark as I wish since its a bachelor's setup.Moreover,movie and gaming would be only during night time.

4.Budget is strictly 1L and not a bit more. Else would have gone for a segment higher model.Moreover, a lame reason I found to console my poor soul is to refrain form spending more than a lac in a scenario where changes are occurring so frequently and returns are diminishing by the minute.I know its crap, but whatever rocks my boat

5.The TW6000 doesn't have Lens Shift but I weigh performance more to slightly rigid placement options.Is there another model that has similar or better 2D/3D performance and comes with Lens Shift as well in this budget?

6.Local warranty is a must.

Plz help me make an informed decision guys.

My wishes that you get the projector soon.

It is always not necessary to make the room pitch dark, in-direct lights will do, like the yellow ones etc. While all the more it is good that you will be beaming mainly in night hours.

TW6000 is a good model. But a new version is coming, hence you can bargain for better discount. It may take another 1 year for the new model to be available in India.

I think the lag of this projector is slightly high for gaming, especially if you are playing first person shooter games. You may search the net and check whether the lag is acceptable to you.

3D Glasses are default with TW6000, try to get it along with it. Only for TW8000 it has to be purchased separately. They may be taking it out from the TW6000 box and selling it separately.

TW 6000 is now over. New model is TW 6100. Price seems to be ok try with Varay fort he price. I think you may get a couple of thousand less. Maybe 93K. Mail them at : [email protected]. TW 6100 is the best in its price as nothing below 1Lac in full HD 3D is available in India.

Cont : I agree that TW 6100 and TW 8100 of Epson are good for Movies and whereas in gaming you will have a bit of disappointment.

If you can wait a bit, then BenQ is about to launch W1070 projector. Its 1080P, 3D DLP projector. Price is rumored to be around $1000.

Finally, confirmed the Epson TW6100 from Varay and going forward with the purchase tomorrow or day after.

Arey, am waiting on the same since a week. Diwali rush and Thakeray illness had paralyzed Mumbai and hence the delay, as per Varay. Hoping to receive the baby today at least.

Will update as soon as he's here, though I will setup screen and all only after receiving the projector and finding the best size/placement.

TW6100 is definitely a good choice. I am also planning to buy the same projector. I also got a qoute from Varay of 1lac and it include 1 3d galss and charger. Please let me know if its a authorized dealer and warranty would still be valid?
