I am looking for a 3d full hd projector.I was searching for the forum favourite Epson tw 8100 but have not been able to find it anywhere.does any body knows where it can be found.in the time being I got quotations for these projectors.if I dont get 8100 I have to get one of these.I need the help of fm to help me locate 8100 or to decide one of these three
1 Epson 8200 1.78 lac plus taxes
2 Panasonic 8000 1.9 lac plus taxez. 1.68 (grey market)
3 Sony hw50 es. 2.4 lac including taxes

Which one should I go for. are these prices good Or can I get it lower anywhere else

If you are looking for DLP as an option. Optoma HD 25 LV is a good option.
Else 8200 is a safe bet.

Thanks sribuddy for the response.does it makes sense to buy a projector from grey market with no warranty support.the price of pana 8000 in grey is very good considering the price with warranty
I was also informed by Sony dealer that hw 50es has been replaced with 55 es and is currently not available plus it is 15-20 k pricier than hw50 es.

PM me, I will send you a contact who can organise TW 8100

@Rupinder.
No point in going grey market route. Lot of hassles if you end up in any issues.

@Ankit,
PM me also the dealer info. Last I heard is 8200 is in market for demo and is more costlier than 8100. which already is pricier.

Sorry, my contact had a last piece of 8100 sold out few days back :(

Met Epson Reps yesterday, got a demo of brand new 8200 & 5200 one after other.

8200 is really super PJ with fantastic picture quality. 5200 is more for persons into heavy gaming that can be made to view movies but at a cost!

As for 8100, 8 pcs left to be very precise & all with 1 dealer. Contact for more info.

Another thing learned about demo pcs given by epson to dealers, is that they are having NO WARRANTY! A policy to ensure that he dealer does not sell demo pc to prospective buyer before the models phase out is near. So pls be careful if you are interested in buying demo pcs from dealers.

Lamp life is 500 hours or 1 year whichever comes earlier, a standard policy for models across the epson range. Will be writing more about the 8200 in a separate thread subsequently.
