help needed <<<for a WD tv live plus and Onkyo Hts 3300....>>>

hi everyone,
i already has a onkyo hts3300 htib and now recently bought WD live plus HD media player from dubai. i do have an lg OLD crt TV.
now i need your suggestions regarding connecting these three to form an AV setup.

media player:WD TV Live Plus


i have already connected and tried all these. i could not get my component connection with tv working. the screen image is almost blank with mild flickering of colour images.
onkyo connection with media player via hdmi... does not produce any sound.
i am having the latest firmware for player.

If your TV doesnt have HDMI then for the video you need to see what is available to connect the media player to TV for video and see if HDMI can carry 5.1 audio only to the HTiB. Maybe it has composite video outputs?

For audio you need to connect HDMI out of Player > HDMI in of AVR.
For video Composite/Component out from player to Composite/Component in of TV.

thanks , but component output flickers and almost blank in my tv. my tv supports only 480i. anything i missed out?

Check whether there is option for setting the resolution in your player. If not then use the composite out. Still better upgrade to LCD TV.

Yes, Baiju is right-you probably know that the older TV doesnt support HD right?
