Help regarding 3D

Friends I have a viewsonic pro 8200. Very much satisfied with the product. Now even one of my friends is planning to get a 3d projector.I suggested him
viewsonic PJD6531w ,looking at the reviews .He is getting it for 52000. Now with that projector they have a active 3d glass and its expensive too. I suggested him that he can convert any 2d movie to 3d via software,and rather buy passive poloroid glasses. My question is will it work that way, any one using it ?

No it wont,i think the PJ you mentioned is a DLP one,only dlp link glasses will work,nothg else,the PJ is 3D ready,so wont directly play from a blu ray player.Viewsonic has a converter $249 for that and glassses should come for $60 a piece.
