Hi,

I have bought JBL Studio 2 Series speakers and Harman AVR 270 7.1 Receiver.
Need help in Installation.
Wiring is already done in my room for 7.1

I dont know how to connect it now. I guess I have to buy Banana Plugs for the connection.
To avoid all these hurdles, I contacted some of the Technical Guys from Sound Vision and Orange Tree but they are charging 5k for it.

Please let me know is it good to pay 5k and get the work done or whether I can get any guidance here.

Need you advice...

PS: Admins if the post is not in the right section please move it.

Thanks,
Suveer

I bought it online from Harman employee sale..which I got it from Mumbai...now for installation I contacted JBL/Harman dealers here in Bangalore they are quoting 5k for it. So please let me know whether is it worth to pay or I can do it myself with some guidance...do let me know... Still I haven't opened all the boxes

Did you buy the full 5.1 or 7.1 speaker set up. If yes , then based on your query I must say that you will need outside help. Can't comment on the amount being charged. May be you don't need a true audio professional but at least some one who understands calibration etc to get you going.

Also note that Banana plugs are not essential but they are convenient

I bought 5.1
Let me list out the complete components here...
1. Jbl studio 270 floor standing speakers
2. Jbl studio 235c center channel speaker
3. Jbl studio 210 surround speakers
4. Jbl studio 250p subwoofer
5. Harman AVR 270 Receiver

Appreciate your help on this...

Your quick help on this is much appreciated.
I'm ready to pay 5k as they are telling but the problem is they said they can only install it during weekdays, but weekdays its not possible for me to be at home.
Can you guys please provide some contact details who can install it at affordable price during weekend or in the evening.

5k is too much.. I am sure they are not any professionals but just people who have basic information. Little Google will help you if you are willing to do it yourself.

I'm googling but not finding the proper link.
Please some one can guide me or send me the link. I'm new to set up these.
as these are my first professional speakers for Home Theater.

Thanks Anil, for the detailed Info...
I never knew I'll get all these information in the Owner's Manual.

I just want to know one thing...
Will there be any difference If I connect with or without Banana Plugs to the speaker.

Your help will be much appreciated... :clapping:

Here in Bangalore, For installing speakers they are quoting too much  ...I'll try it myself this weekend.

Thanks,
Suveer

Hi Suveer - I would not call myself an expert but I have been using a home theater with 5.1 speakers for last 8-9 years. I have also helped some of my friends in installation. Please PM me - I'm also Bangalore based (Old Airport Road). If our weekend timings work out, I can come by to help.

You are welcome buddy any time

see i dont think banana plugs will make a major difference.
(as its indicated in OM that u can connect speakers either ways)

As far as installation is concerned its not a rocket science. Its indicated on back of avr & also u have owners manual to refer. Just connect the wires in correct polartiy.

I connected my Yamaha YHT 298 myself only.

Let me know any other info u need.

Regards
Anil
