I ordered the 900b on friday(actually thursday night but confirmed the payment on friday)... Before ordering I confirmed with Raghu that they do have stock of 900b even though it says pre order on the website... According to Raghu they shifted their office recently which has caused many delays & I believe thats the reason he hasn't been able to update his website... He seemed a decent enough fellow on the phone & is recommended as a good dealer on this forum so I am not too worried... You can call him up on his cell number before ordering if you are worried of him having stock or not... Will post as soon as I receive my unit...

Hi All:

Happily joined the Himedia Family yesterday evening.

Thanks Baiju :-)

Went to Detna yesterday evening and saw 600 B and 600 C. Raghu was very nice and showed a model of both the model, along with another chinese model (nameless model equivalent to 600 B)

600C was 7000 and 600B was 9000+

The advantages were primarily touch screen (which I will never use), display (which Raghu said will not sow the full name of the file) and the USB 3.0 (None of my gadgets are 3.0 compatible) and above all I have Panny X30D which is a non-3d model..... So I felt 600B was a bit of over kill for me.

So decided on 600C and bought it immediately. Couldn't take it out of the box till today evening. Connected everything in the evening and watched a few 1080p movies with sound today.....

Extremely happy with the decision :yahoo: ....Sincere thanks to this thread :signthankspin: and especially Baiju in particular

I will be spending more time with her tomorrow :ohyeah:

One quick clarification: Can the settings, suggestions and tweaks provided here for 600B, be applied for 600C or are they model specific?

Congratulations.

Settings/Tweaks and firmware updations are the same for both 600B and 600C.

Now you need to buy an HTIB to get the complete feel of a Home Theater. You can start with Onkyo 3400, if you don't have an HTIB yet.

The price you mentioned seem to be reversed. It should be 7K for 600C and 9K+ for 600B.

Thanks for pointing it out!!! Edited and corrected it....

You are precisely right... I am already feeling the lack of the sound effect after watching movies in a splendid clarity .... :p

Looking for HTIB only now.... Just started that research..... and Onkyo 3400 is one of the top in the list...

Coming back to Himedia, I shall be upgrading the firmware tomorrow... Should I go with the custom firmware or is there any tried and tested best firmware? Pls advise....

You can try any firmware. If something goes wrong use a force installation using any stable version. I have tried FW of other players too. Some works. Remember to remove the HDD before any firmware update.

I have a couple of questions (Mine is a 600C) ...... Please help me....

Firstly I have a Panny P32X30D TV and the media player is connected via a HDMI cable.

Also, In the media player setup, I have chosen aspect ratio as 16:9 and TV System as 720P 60Hz. I have not upgraded the firmware and it is still 1.0.5.7 with me....

1. When I am playing most of the movies, I dont get the videos full screen, but like cinema-scope (with the black bar on the top and bottom)...
When I am connecting the usb directly to TV and this happen, I can get it to full screen by pressing aspect button and set it to aspect 2 option. But here, I have to select zoom, it spoils the movie by cutting the side....
Is there any option/ setting change to avoid this and get full screen video? Please help me....

2. I am getting my WD Green Caviar 2TB tomorrow, can somebody let me know how to put it inside 600C? I have not got any wires along with 600 C except for a HDMI cable and power adapter cable..... How do I get the harddisk in and how to connect it to power and data cables?? Please clarify.
If possible some pictures will really be helpful.

1. IIRC, you can get full screen display under the display settings of the player.
2. Cables for HDD are provided inside the HDD tray. These cables have both SATA and Power connector.

To keep all apprised, There is a bug in 900A and B ( Atleast on my player) . No files saved / deleted on the NTFS HDDs is deleted.

I lost about 100 Gigs of movies :-(

This bug is noted on other Forums too.

Beware.

In comparison to my Xtreamer MK1 this player is worthless, There are so many small things in Xtreamer that makes me wonder if I should Have got Xtreamer Prodigy.

1. You can select any sub from anywhere in xtreamer, Not necessarily the same file name.
2. IP of your player is not visible.
3. File Size is not visible.
4. Android is a joke, take too long to boot when enabled.
5. Missing file bug.
6. Unpolished GUI. Come on my xtremer is 2 years older......

Hi guys,

I am planning to buy a HD600C but I have some doubts regarding the player. As I am a complete novice when it comes to HD media players , I would be grateful if you could solve some of my queries.

1)Does it support external Hard disk and if yes then what formats? Also how is the quality when playing 1080p files from the same?

2)Can the Bit Torrent feature still work when connected to an external hard disk and store the downloaded data on the same?

3)Also I would like to know how efficient is the torrent downloading feature of this device? Can it substitute a PC when it comes to downloading a torrent file.

4) Please suggest me the best possible place as well as the price to purchase this?

Thanks

have you connected ur HDD using USB or internally to the himedia player ?

I use 1TB HDD along with another 500GB HDD using USB and no issues, works perfect, file transfer using samba is perfect, playback is flawless

can you elaborate the steps you did which reslted in deletion of ur files from ur HDD ?

among the issues enlisted by jatinmalhotra, one particular one to which i agree is #1, ie, inability for a user to select any subtitle file which doesnt have the same name as the movie-file. the player doesnt even display the subtitle file. could anyone please tell whether there's a solution to this issue ?

1. External HDDs can be attached via USB port. 600B has USB 3.0 and SATA port to connect HDD.

2. You can download bittorrent to external HDD.

3. Torrent downloading is not as good as PC as reported by many users. This applies to all media players not limiting to Himedia

simple way is to rename the srt file same as movie file, different name and select feature dont work perfect

The HDDs are connected via USB.

Well I can say if your HDDs work then Hurray. The 3 HDDs are different, One is seagate other 2 are wd with diff capacities.

I copied Via Samba from PC. Files are gone after reboot.

Any deleted files / folders Via Himedia using green button come back. Same is result with Samba.

The worst part is all this works out of box from a 2 gen previous Xtreamer MK1.
