I also doubt about BD-ROM because normally Popcorn Hour etc gives a slot for putting BD-ROM. They actually don't bundle BD-ROM.

Raghu is a new importer (not that new but still), initially he quoted 6500Rs for 600B, later he found that customs charges were high to corrected the price to 8000Rs.

Better would be confirm once again. If in reality one can get 900D for 11.5K with BD-ROM then its a steal deal :yahoo:

yeah even i got pretty excited hearing such a nice price for this bundle. i have told him that i will call up again next week.

Got my HiMedia 600B from a forum member and it works beautifully for all the media formats that I've tried. Will soon try a BD ISO and check that too. Flacs sound much better than when I tried through the Asus Oplay Mini. The internal HD dock is very neat and doesn't heat up too much as I had feared.

Very satisfied with the audio and video performance. Haven't yet networked it or tried the wifi.

I am looking for 3D HD media streamer and almost zeroed on Himedia 900b. I also considered Popcorn hour but it is out of budget. I am not able get 900b on ebay or locally. Please advise where i can order Himedia 900b, also can anyone share experience about wireless streaming and any quality loss while playing movies through it.
Also i have seen someone mentioned about upcoming 900d, when it will be released

You can visit to detna.com. and call up raghu, its a Bangalore based web site all models are available there and they will ship to your home. And regarding Himedia 900D he said that it will be releasing in one week.

I called raghu and enquired about 900C and 900D, both are not available. Currently he has 900B, what is the difference between 900C and 900B

Does 600B has video upscale capability? I am planning to buy one. I checked the specs and couldn't find any?

By what I remember you were interested in some basic Media player.

Anyway these Media player doesn't have superior Video upscaling chips.

Every media players gives an option to connect to the TV in different resolution. Means will upscale to 1080p. Also all HDTVs has upscaling capabilities.

But the issue here is, the upscaling is just mathematical, and nothing is done for removing noise, enhancing sound, and other artifacts.

Superior Upscaling chips are highly expensive and few expensive Media players like oppo, some dune (not sure) have good upscaling chips.

If budget is not constraint buy Popcorn Hour A300 anyday.

Goto Product Face-Offs Media Centres : DViCO , Memup MediaGate TV HD, TizzBird F30, DViCO TViX 6632N, - DigitalVersus
Add players to compare (select AC Ryan Playon HD2 for realtek 1185 chipset)
And select option "Playback: 576p source."

You can see how different players perform in outputting such low resolution sources.

In 2012 many companies will launch media players with Sigma Designs VXP upscaling chipsets. http://www.sigmadesigns.com/video_processing_overview.php

PS3 upscaling is much better than what my Himedia 600B does. But with higher resolution sources say 1080p, these superior upscaling chips have negligible impact.

You can call me for more info.

does this player support Bittorrent?(flawlessly).

i am looking for good media player with bittorrent support...have Ac ryan Play on HD2 in mind..

i dont want 3D features...

Thanks.

It does support Bittorrent downloads flawlessly, again all depends on your wifi speed. The previous version 600b was supporting 10 downloads simultaneously.
