Hi,

Wishing a very happy, prosperous, peaceful and musical new year to all of you.
I took a break from this forum for a few months. I'm glad to be back. So let me update you folks with my current setup.

Dedicated listening/HT room
  • Blu-Ray Player: Panasonic BD30
  • CD Player: NAD C542
  • Turn Table: Project Debut III with NAD PP2 phono stage
  • Cassette Deck: Denon DRW-585
  • Receiver: Denon AVR 2809 (latest addition)
  • Integrated: Amplifier: NAD C372 for the front channels
  • Speakers: Monitor Audio RS6 with Definitive Technology Super Cube II subwoofer
  • Projector: Plus U5-111 (Next in the line for upgrade)
  • Custom designed equipment rack, media racks and cabinets

Bed Room
  • CD Player: NAD C521i
  • Integrated: Amplifier: Cambridge Audio C640
  • Speakers: Acoustic Energy Aesprit 309 floor standers with an additional pair of tweeters
Lobby:

  1. Sonodyne Genie 2 (wall mounted)
  2. Sonodyne analog amp
  3. Jamo SW 1008 subwoofer
  4. Philips 5106 DVD player
  5. Planning to add a Squeezebox Duet player for the lossless audio on the wireless LAN
Right now I am comparing the DACs in Denon 2809 (AL24 etc.) with those on NAD C542, and the amp section with that of NAD C372.

Thanks,
Sharad

Congratulations.

Can you please show us the photographs and what is the room size?

Thanks.

Vinay.

Amazing Fact: If the amount of water in a human's body is reduced by just 1%, he will feel thirsty. If it's reduced by 10%, he will die.

Hi Vinay,

You really want to see the photographs?
It's essentially a Den (15ftx11ft), which usually looks better with the lights off ;)

Sharad

Welcome back Sharad.
Glad to see the Nad C 542 is not on the chopping block!!!!!!!!!
Best wishes in the year ahead.
Rgds

Thanks Dinyaar.
I still prefer the sound from Nad C 542 compared to Denon 2809 decoding the digital PCM stream from the Panasonic BD 30 or the C542 itself, though it is quite close.

Regards,
Sharad

I paid 19.5K for the Pro-Ject Debut III at Bangalore in Sep, 2008. I also paid about 5K for the NAD PP2 phono pre-amp.

I did not buy the USB variant. This is the model without the phono preamp or USB. Please refer to the ARN Systems web site for more details about the models.

Thanks,
Sharad

can you give us more information on the custom rack you refer to pl.

need to go in for one asap.

haven't found too many options in india.

Here is a picture of the equipment rack, and the original design. The media rack and chests too were done by the same carpenters.
