Hi guys,

I am sharing my infibeam.com experience.

I lost my 3G data card and placed an order for another data card with infibeam yesterday. Today morning, my friend called that I forgot my data card at his place. I checked my order status on Infibeam. Order status was "Open" and it mentioned "Ships By: Mar 11, 2014" under "Delivery Information".

So, early morning I requested infibeam to cancel this order which is so normal with flipkart, snapdeal, etc. And I got this reply:

"Dear customer,

Thank you for writing to us. We are happy to assist you with your query.

In regards to the mail received we would ;like to inform you that your order is in process, however if you want to cancel the order than you need to pay 10% cancellation charges for the same.kindly confirm us for the same so that we can proceed further.

Please feel free to get back to us in case of any further queries or question. We will be glad to assist you. You can also call 079-40260260 (Our 247 phone support) for instant help.

Thanks and Regards,

So, requesting my friends here to take an informed decision before buying from infibeam.com about their hidden cancellation charges.

PS: My question is, if they cancel the order (due to pricing error, no stock, or any other reason) why don't they give 10% cancellation charges to customers ?

Their site says they charge a restocking fee of 10% for cancellation of non cod orders... Pretty much BS... Guess should always order Cod from infibeam

Interesting feedback, Mukesh, and good to know.

I was shocked to read their 10% cancellation charges even before processing order. Their shipping date is 11th Match.

I have cancelled ordered from Flipkart.com even after they shipped it. That's how they win customers. If I cancelled ordered of 2k, I made purchases more than 70k after that.

Infibeam.com is in my negative list now.

Ordered a Filmfare bollywood collection CD and received the CD cover with a immensely scratched crap dj disc which I didn't try to play on my cd player. IB didn't replace the disc but put some money to my wallet. OTOH, Flipkart sent me a damaged dev d cd and they send me a new one free of charge upon complaining (2 yr old story)

That's why I go to HomeShop18, they even refunded me after 30-days and using the product extensively :)

Same here, i have ordered plenty of stuff from Homeshop and always have a good experience. I avoid couple of sites which i know are not reliable and never buy from them Infibeam is one of those, others are Indiatimes, rediff,

Ordered an item on infibeam hoping that they might not be all that bad. Unfortunately the item has been shipped by their own courier company (Infibeam logistics) and it has already taken about four days since it started from Delhi.

Just for comparison - Rajdhani express take 4 and a half hours to reach here. Passenger trains take about 7 hours. Road travel takes a little more time.

Placed above 10 orders on Infibeam and had no issues yet. But charging of 10% fee against the cancellation is completely BS. And if the item is expensive then definitely we will be in trouble.
Solution : Make sure you need the product 100% and always place orders with COD.

COD is a good idea.
What I have noticed is that the quality of service of various online stores varies from location to location. Your location (city/town within India) might be the reason that you have had no issues till now.
