Is it worth to buy from Taiwan?

Hi friends,
Feels good to post on HFV after a long time

A friend of mine is visiting Taiwan today. I was wondering if I could get a cd player and/or tuner for cheap from there. He would be carrying it with him to India, so please inform me about the customs scene also.

If it is actually worth it, then would someone please provide me the contact details of dealer there.

please please provide me your input, I need to inform my friend on immediate basis as he is leaving today only.

there are quite a few high end taiwanese manufacturers of audio equipment. it would def be advisable to get one of those. buy he weuld need to go to a good store that sells audiophile equipment and get good advice
