cool project - how much did you spend in the end?
Did you also try to measure the frequency / linearity? Maybe there is someone in your area with measurement equipment, that would help to get to the last 5%

These are what I remember...............
Old speakers from OLX Rs. 1,000
Carpenter Rs. 2,500 (incl. machine cutting)
Paint & Brush Rs. 400
Ply wood from old cabinet, twitters from my bookshelf speakers.

Rather than cotton filling, you can try to purchase suitable size of felt from diyaudiocart dot com and try on inner walls. Also using glass wool or polyfill sould be thought.

Was there some passive radiator or port somewhere?

It has port in back side of the speaker.

The size of the enclosure is same as the original.

i am keen to know if you tried the speaker feet spikes.

also the new tweeters seem designed and mounted in a recessed manner and so i assume some toe-in ( directivity to the listener ) will be called for.

Should i comeover to delhi side in end sept or early oct.. i will sms / pm you for some time with your rig.

I am going to give feet to my speaker.
- Speaker Outrigger -

the seasons for outrigger are
1. speaker spikes are too expensive
2. my wife does not allow to make any harm to floor
3. my precious speakers is not to be fallen down
4. it looks quite good to showoff

My Design

After making the design, I went welding shop.

You dont really have to adhere to the original dimensions for any speaker. All speakers that were made in a factory are undersized. They made em and they transported them to the dealers. In all of those cases space was a cost, as was material costs. I even find B&W 801 bass bin undersized (and made of woefully crappy material)
The added advantage of a larger cabinet is - you can add in bracing and it while may already be stiff enough, bracing will take away volume as well as stiffeing and adding weight. You could also put a brick in the bottom of it adding weight and taking away air volume.
Anyway, good work on these, I never heard of JPW till this thread.

After putting the outriggers, I feel that base part became little better making more balance with twitter.

I have 2 Lakhs of music files (flac or wav) in my computer.
I used to listen western classic, Jazz and vocal.

The part I could do were painting and finding shoes instead of spikes.
I got them from round table - leg shoes.

In my office, I got an idea to make speaker shoes looking at the table legs.

These are shoes that I am going to put to my speakers. I found them from other unused table
The shoes part and bolt part are flexible that I can adjust the height.

When I checked the weight of the speakers, it was 22kg each.
Let me put bricks in its inside.

Particle board is a lot heavier than plywood. Brick also removes air volume.
I have a few friends who are obsessed with filling sand in speaker stands and bracing and weighting the speakers themselves. Just dont move it with that brick inside - if you were serious about putting brick inside.
