I wish I knew the plans. I would have thought of joining from Mangalore
same here ....i was confused thought that suri is planning BLR trip, any ways suri will have to bear me alone next week if all goes well
allrighty then,...after hours nd hours of permutations/combinations/exclamations,and indignation in no small measure,the kannur meet has finally drawn to a close.thanks to our ever gracious host suri and his better half(who didn complain one bit,yea kudos to her!!) and the presence of iaudio(great guy)for a fabulous time.
we had an absolute blast,a day filled with music and laughter,punctuated by the occasional ruckus of 3 canine members of his family,at the home of the witches of sound.excellent speakers,such immediacy,cohesion,spot on imaging,holographic nature in presentation,and seamless integration with the sub..beautiful.if u guys wanna hear a great pair of diy speakers using scan speak drivers,u now know where to go.
cant believe the speakers are evolving into its newest avatar,the witches of ecstasy,as i post.will sample the finished product soon,and am sure theyre gonna be fabulous.all the best to suri towards their completion.the Dalmore was the perfect accompaniment to a great evening

I am on my way back after a hectic but fantastic day of listening to music at Suri's place. We spent hours and hours chatting and trying out whatever variety of sources we had.
As an opening pic, I am posting Suri with his master creation! And before we post in detail about the whole thing, let me just tell you tell you that the Witches of
Sound are just pure AWESOME!

On Saturday 13th, I, Rallynut reached Kannur for the first HFV meet in Kerala/Kannur. Suri played host with his house being the venue and his Witches of Sound being the stars of the show.
We had for auditioning:
1. Suris setup:
Source: Cds
Player: Marantz CD6002
Amplifier: Marantz PM17
Cables: VDH 14awg?
In addition to this I had brought my laptop to play CDs and flacs/wave files with Foobar along with Bandridge Ipod cable(3.5mm to RCA)
Rallynut brought his Keces Da151 mk2 DAC and his CAT5e speaker cables.
We went for a stage by stage listening session with various setups with PM17 and Witches of Sound being constant,
1. Played CD with laptop drive as transport and laptop headphone out
2. Played same CD ripped to Wav files with Eac, i.e HDD transport and laptop headphone out.
3. Setup 1 with output through USB DAC
4. Setup 2 with output through USB DAC
5. Played the same CD with Marantz CD6002 as transport and the CD player analogue output.
6. Setup 5 after a shot of Dalmore
7. Mp3s of various bitrates played with Foobar through Keces Dac
Cds used for this were:
Suris Diana Krall-Girl in the other room CD- Temptation, Saraswati from my Into the Light CD by U Rajesh, Devdas theme from Devdas OST, Marantz Test SACD 11th Edition, and many many more.
I think Suri will give his impressions in detail.
