Dear friends,
Last week, I ordered a unic UC 40+ 800 lumen LED lit projector for the unbelievable price of Rs. 5939/= after reading a lot of reviews and customer feedback.
The LED bulb uses 55 watts and the projector becomes slightly hot in spite of the built-in cooling fan.
Then, I chanced on Luzon screens featured in amazon.in. But, I was not sure of the screen quality. Yet, I trusted amazon and went ahead and ordered a 7X5 hi gain map type screen made by Luzon Dzire. The screen was delivered beautifully wrapped up by Gati couriers. It weighs 10Kgs.
It cost Rs. 1960/=.
The picture on the screen is much brighter than that projected on the ivory colored concrete wall. I can watch 7ftX5ft in total darkness and in a dimly lit room, 6X4 ft.
So, who said that you have to spend ten thousand bucks on a screen? I am all for Luzon Dzire high gain screens.
I don't work for Luzon or Unic. I am just one happy lucky guy.
So, go ahead and try a Luzon screen and post your post-purchase reviews here on this thread.
Happily yours,

Me too looking for a screen.. Landed up on Amazon.in, thinking of 8 x 6 ft screen for abt 3.5K

Is the ceiling mount accessory provided as part of the screen?

The screen seems to be 4:3. If you had got 16:9, it would have been ideal for HT purposes. Don't they sell 16:9 aspect?

Thx Sash.. My bad..I assumed, a PJ screen's cater to both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio.

Anyways i have placed a return order on amazon.in as there was an option "ordered by mistake".. Let me see if i get to the exchange it for 9 x 5 16:9 screen..

might be a bit overkill, but worth a shot.

I bought a map type screen from ebay. "crystal brand" 8 feet wide, don't remember the height. Cost <2k total. I'm happy :)

The bigger screen is to accommodate next update, may be a HD PJ..

How is Map type compared to pull down screen? would it flutter if there is a fan used in the room?

It's essentially yours without the spring loaded roller on top. So after every use, i need to manually roll it up.

the bottom does flap a bit upwards when the fan is on, but thats because there is a lot of gap behind the screen (curtains)

Guys, I am planning to buy 10x8 Luzon projector screen from amazon :

Luzon Dzire 10" x 8" Feet Wall Type Projector Screen: Amazon.in: Electronics

Have few doubts about build quality and thickness of the sheet. Since its 10x8 ther's more chance that if thickness of cloth is not good enough then there might be wrinkles on the screen.

Other question is about the diff between motorized screen vs this one. Is there a provision where at later stage I can fit a motor to this screen ?

Thanks in advance.
