Hi

I made these stands for the fronts and the centre. I made it a little larger to keep Wharfedale 9.2, but I could go only for 9.1 for the fronts, 9.cs for the Centre, WH2 surround and SW150
These are made of 18mm MDF board and painted in Black to match the speakers and the TV.

These images are shot thru my Moto Slvr mobile, its a VGA camera so sorry for the resolution.

The spikes are not yet ready and the stands are temporarily mounted on PVC bushes.

Just finished all the connections and watched U-571, I realy liked it.
This is a one good movie to test all the speakers.

Thanks everyone in this forum who had motivated me, advised me, helped me to do this job.

They sure look neat friend. Good to see efforts take shape and be in use per ur need.

But, i would not second the option of cd stacking in the center for any unwarranted noise that shall come cause of rattle when volume is pumped up. Thats just my belief.

Its a job well done from the looks of it.
A suggestion, Get a jute mat to cover the background wall. About 3ft high or 4ft high shall add on to the beauty and will make ur black stands stand out more effectively.

Cheers

Thanks Sidharth , I'll definetly take a note of your advice.

Superb DIY work, Friend :clapping:. Can you mention the Length*Width*height of the stands please?? What's the total cost?

Enjoy :yahoo:!

Enjoy the clean sound from stands gap:clapping:. Suddenly, i find many people making DIY speaker stands for especially for Whrf 9 series, including myself:eek:hyeah:. Just few weeks back Demigod made one and now gap.

I have already ventured into the project of making DIY stands for 9.2 stereo setup and its about to get completed. i will post details once the project is complete. The total cost for my project is estimated to be less than Rs. 1500!!!

Good work there Gap. Looks swell. As Sidharth said the CDs might rattle during high volume sessions, adding to the 'effect'!
Somthing has to be done about the wiring though, it is not going with your otherwise aesthetically beautiful set up. Mind you, I have wires running helter skelter throughout my apartment floor and I dont really mind.

Hi

sorry for the late reply, I was busy a little

The dimension for the fronts.

The Base is 14" x 16"
The top is 11" x 12"
The Base and the Top is joined with 6" x 7" x 29.5"H box which can be filled with sand if needed

I have moved the 6"x7" box a little front of the base 14" x 16" base so that if the stand is kept against the wall the speakers will me couple of inches away from the wall.

The Height of the stand is 32"
Total height of the stand + wharfedale 9.1 is 44"

I have 2 playful kids, fearing that they may topple the speaker, I made the top a little bigger and also with 9.2 in mind.
But 8' x 9' and the centre 4" x 5" x 29.5" will be fine for the 9.1.

The dimension for the Centre speaker 9.cs

The base is 18" x 12"
The top is 16" x 10"
The height to the stand is 24"

The whole project is done on 18mm MDF sheet cut from 8'x4' sheet.
The sheet was idle in my house after finishing cupboard work. so I used the sheet which would have costed around Rs. 1100/-
The labour for the carpenter is 500/-
The spray painting cost is Rs. 950/-
Other expenses like adhesive, nails etc. 150/-
Totally Rs. 2700/- for 3 stands.
