Hey guys this is my first post over here so pardon me if any rules have not been followed

After seeing many Home theater setups in the forum reignited the movie buff in me again( have around 700 Movies and 40 plus TV series stocked at home in a rack which i used to collect a long time back), so I decided to setup a home theater at my place in Gurgaon:), Work takes me to places and I spent most of my time in Mumbai so decided to keep the setup cost in a budget :indifferent14:

1) After reading many reviews here ordered an Opotma HD20 from Amazon and got it delivered to my sisters placewhich was again bought to India. Costed me around (899$)=45000

2)Choosing a HT was a difficult choice with many HTIBs around with one just a lil expensive than other, finalized on 1312XP HTIB system, the store guy as he is parting away with JBL he could give me Harman Kardon HKTS30 cheap as he needs to clear the inventory with bill and everything ,I nodded yes for a demo and felt 1312 with HKTS is strikingly better than HTIB 1312 immediately finalized on the same and made the payment Denon 1312XP plus HKTS 30 BQ in total costed around 45k
Next day, in a family meeting it was decided to renovate one of the floors where i intedned to setup my mini HT that meant my HT plans were off the shelf for next 6 months due to renovations,to my surprise my dad asked if I wanted a seperte room for HT, for which said Yes without thinking for a sec, so it was decided to construct a new room (dimensions 23 feet long X 13 feet Wide)
Called the home theater guy next day and decided to get the whole room sound proofing done
I am attaching the WIP pix which I took a day before will be updating as soon as the work is donebelow are also mentioned cost which would be spent
1) Optoma HD20 = 45 K
2) Denon 1312XP + Haman Kardon HTS30 BQ= 45 or 50 K sorry need to chek this
3) HKTS floor stands=8.5 K
4) 30 M HDMI (2X15 m HDMI v1.4)= 10k
5)15 meter VGA=1750
6) 15 meter component=3900
7) A 120 inch Diagonal Fixed frame (Grandview is costing around 50k but have finalized an Imported one similar looking 16:9 ratio)= 25K
8) Room Acoustics= PM me will give you details
9) Optical Fibre lighting galaxy pattern= cost comes to you around 50 k ie 110 per star
10) Manual recliners= 15 -20 K (there is a manufacturer on MG road)

Planning to connect XBOX, TATA sky, a Mediabox and a DVD player :yahoo:

Welcome to the world of private home theater.

It is very important to remove the windows to enjoy the power of a dedicated home theater.

We are in queue waiting for your respective queries.

All the best.

thnx vinay.. thick carpet will be put on walls and ..window will be covered

Now only concern i have is the Audio setup would do the justice or not as m a newbie, kindly guide

and i will try too keep posting WIP pics at ever stage

Anuj,

I do not think any forum member has put carpet on the wall. It is generally the ready made acoustic boards or glass wool, fabric and related are put on the wall.

It is a smart decision that the windows will be covered, many congratulations.

It is very good that you will post the pictures at every stage but also consider to post the plan before a particular work begins so that suggestion can be given by the members which in turn will give you a opportunity to alter if the need be.

Anuj,

Alok had got a price from some good company of about Rs.15,000/- by which is movie room lights could be remote controlled. Please check with him for details.

In my case lights are remote controlled with dimmer option and i am using a Logitech remote for this.
