Hi All

We finally moved into the house and I have completed the initial setup of my home theater.
Here are some initial pictures, Any suggestions to improve the setup will be appreciated.
Next week the floor will be carpeted wall to wall.

Picture and the sound comes out quite well, however I will undertake some basic acoutic treatment to create a Reflection free listening zone.

Hi Raj691,

very tastefully done HTRoom. Congratulations ..!!

and also congratulations on moving in to your new house.. :)
Cheers

Beautiful setup Raj! And best wishes for the Move-in.

When do we get to watch a movie with you :p ?

I am upgrading the HT room.
1. Replacing the current Yamaha RX V2700 with new amp Yamaha Aventage 2010. Basically this is to cater to the new HD codecs.

2. Replacing the yamaha YHT-315 with a velodyne SPL II -1000 which is a 1000W RMS high power sub woofer

3. Replacing the AC ryan media player with Pop corn hour A-400 which has the latest sigma fine 8911 chip with dual core cpu and VXP vedio processor

Popcorn Hour - Networked Media Jukebox

Product Review

A400 is recently launched and still has lots of issues. Better wait till they have a stable firmware.

Superb Stuff, i just picked another Flat with a plan to have a dedicated room just like yours, it is at 13*11 so very close to your dimensions and looks exactly like yours in term of windows and doors, i am sure i will be revisiting this thread to get more ideas. Though i only get possession after a 1.5 yr, i will start looking at option to make the room sound proof right now.

It shows your passion when you are considering a dedicated room, congratulations.

You should consider to do away with the windows, by doing this your room will go ahead by leaps and bounds while needless to say that you have to take proper care while making the room, ideas for which are too many in several threads.

While since your house is under construction it will give you a golden opportunity to do all the wiring concealed and you get a more clearer chance to tackle the windows or be it the door location followed with more benefits.

Hi Raj,

Nice to see your attempt at a dedicated home theatre setup. :clapping:

Have you already setup acoustics? I've similar room dimensions as yours. I've done acoustic treatment using frame panels and rockwool, in Pune. So if you need any inputs I can share the same.

Carpenters in Pune are not cheap for this kind of work. I see you have used some standing lights, probably you can replace them with some alternate lighting systems from room aesthetics point of view.

You can check my theatre pics too (I need to post better quality pics :-) at my thread -

Thanks for you help neo.
I have not done any acoustic treatment to the room. Wanted to audition the sound before I do any modifications.

I checked your theater pictures. They are nice.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
