Hi all,
as testing samples are not much but to somewhat salvage something beneficial from the work, here are some thoughts....
- As data qty is low conclusions even moderation can not be done.
- issue is the companies allowed each album/compilation to be modified as per someone's liking. ( I have 4 version of song Phhoolon ke rang se' by Kishore Kumar by original music companies cd in compilation or albums etc.
- But broadly speaking most authentic digital file seems to converted by
increasing volume/expanding dynamic range or some plain equalization.
- Not everyone has audio editing software to evaluate the songs. So best would be to have only controls which one has. i.e. Tone control equalization (Bass, Mid Treble or graphic equalizer)
- If you are used to the song it would be easy to adjust.
- Even if songs recording is not good quality there was no need for companies to alter the songs. But damage is done. Best to listen to vinyl or get vinyl recording if one wants original sound. Because all modification alters the sound and most probably will not sound natural.
- Hope this helps in some way, as idea was to see if there was any 'pattern' by music companies in producing Audio cds which can be reverted back some what.
- Will update if anything new worthwhile comes by. Meanwhile let this not be nitpicking in listening and enjoying some good music. Specially Hindi Songs. (I am curious how other regional songs are recorded ?)
- Thanks everyone who contributed and helped in various ways.
Take care and bye for now.
