ONKYO 5400 - Connections.

Hi,
2 months back i bought ONKYO 5400 in U.S and was able to watch all using HDMI ( HDMI input Soruce and HDMI as ourput Source ). Last month reached India and was trying to connect differently.

Component Video input and HDMI as Output.. is that possible to Setup like that ?? Or we have to use only HDMI as Input and Output ? My DVD Player does not have HDMI out..So i am trying to use Component Video Setup.

Eg :

DVD Player --> Component Video Out & AV Audio Out--> Input to Receiver ---> HDMI out ---> TV.

Is that above Setup is wrong ??

Please Advice..!!

It is possible only if analog upconversion or upsacaling to HDMI is available which I doubt the 5400 has.

Onkyo receivers usually do not convert between video signal types.
This is mentioned in bold in the first few pages of the manual.

Thanks Guys for the information, will do R&D by this weekend ..if not need to change the DVD Player to BR Player to get the HDMI out.
