Hie,

I am using dish tv hd+ recorder. it records on ext pen drive/hdd. But that is not recognizable on pc. it show me the used and unused capacity in computer management, but it is blank.so is there a way to copy n playback the same recorded program on pc?what is it file system format of pendrive/hdd?

I dont think so you can play the recorded content on the pc or any other system than the dishtv hd box itself. It is in a encrypted format so you cannot copy/view the files in other systems

Playback of any recorded satellite content cannot be done only using s/w alone.

The content is usually encrypted and needs specific Hardware+firmware in addition to s/w for playback or reverse engineer. Typically the hardware also requires a valid subscribers card without which the decoding is impossible.

Tatasky uses Videoguard encryption, Dishtv uses three - Conax, Seca, Abel DRM System.

Do google for these encoding systems to get more info on formats / more info.

Reverse engineering recorded content is not possible  - if you really want to record the programs either use a computer with a video capture card or dedicated video capture hardware (which do not need a comp) to copy the output from the stb / tv - this is same as any other video capture/editing..

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
