This was the review that stoked my curiosity about the Lab12 DAC1 reference
I am so happy with this DAC in the set up. It doesn’t happen often; jsuddenly, what I am hearing sounds so right. Beautiful non fatiguing and very enjoyable music reproduction with a decent soundstage width, excellent imaging, delightful and very nuanced bass, plenty of detail presented with no digital glare even with poorly recorded music.
One may reasonably ask: this description can be applied to many DACs in the market; what makes it special?
I believe it’s this DACs’ tonality that makes it special for me. It’s voiced just right and that’s only done by a talented engineer with fantastic listening skills and a very experienced ear for music.
The cherry on top is that it sounds very good across all genres of music.
Then I watched Steve Guttenbergs review and got what he was trying to say about this DAC. I notice he couldn’t stop smiling while describing this DACs attributes…I fully agree with his take on the Lab12 DAC1 reference.
I almost exclusively stream Qobuz, Spotify and occasionally Internet Radio (Radio Paradise streams)
The set up consists of Aurender x100L -> Lab12DAC1R -> Thoress EHT integrated -> Pureaudio Project Trio 15. My room is untreated 12’x16’

what is your internet provider? do you know how to change the DNS setting - if not in the modem then in your OS (windows?) internet settings, see what is the DNS and change it to primary 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4 then see if the website opens after that?
Hi, Am thinking of adding Dayton Audio BST 300 EX Bass Shakers to the recliners in my HT room, how would you mount 12 inch subs, are you talking bout nearfield subs or attaching the deivers to the sofa/recliner body..?? Have you done something similar..?? I have 7 seats to fill.

Bass shakers are good for recliners as you cannot install subwoofers in recliners. One will have to make an enclosure and screw it to the back for that. Maybe you can make a raised platform with subwoofets in it

Nostalgic.
I had these headphones in 2003, when I was in class 6th. A distant relative had got it from USA.
Back in the days, in my small town, this was like a show stopper.
Hi, just came on here n read your comment. Received 8 nos. of Dayton Audio BST 300 EX yesterday. They're bigger than I thought em to be.
My query is, which amp shall I use to power em, have 7 recliners in my theater room, 3 at the front n 4 at the back on a raised wooden platform.
Not all of these would be used at all times, sometimes maybe just one, three or four, how can I go about this? Don't want em running idle n just vibrating away.
Also they're a bit protruding from the back wooden frame of my recliners cos of their size, am sure that's loss of vibration there, do I need to add a wooden ply there?
Can an old AVR be put into use too?? My current AVR is Denon 3800H. I'm considering Crown XLS 2502, it being a 2 channel amp, can it power all 8 of these? I'm trying to have 2 shakers at MLP.

I had an opportunity to buy Cadence Diva floor standers. I just took the plunge without listening nor negotiating as they were on my radar for quite some time. I feel these speakers are part of Indian Hifi scene, although not being made no more and feel it’s it’s a good addition to my Collection.
Thanks to the gentleman who sold me these and was patient with me/ held it for me for pickup and final payment for more than 1.5 months. I was abroad. Gave me a good demo too. I am wondering reason for parting these wonderful speakers as they are keepers for sure.
The Diva’s have a few not so good reviews online. However in reality they sound fantastic, really amazing.
I am very happy to add them to my collection.
Only grouse mentioned online is not so deep bass, but I did not find it lacking especially if you give a little more power and place it right.
Big shoutout to the makers of this amazing speaker especially for what they offered 20 years ago. I am quite pleased.
Build- as usually very nicely finished. Could be hardwood or real wood veneers. Nicely polished and heavy. They resemble like the Lyrita speakers in fit and finish. Very heavy also.

After fatiguing my ears with IEMs, I’m now more inclined towards wired earbuds. Just got a fresh DUNU Alpha 3, paired it with my Questyle M3 DAC, fed by my Mac Mini

Old AVR cannot be put to use. Using crown amp is a good idea if you have the budget but not sure it will be able to power all or not. Since you do not want to use all shakers at once it is better to get 4 separate double chanel subwoofer amplifiers which will be having frequency control. This way you can tune and control all the shakers are per your liking. Have sent you DM for amplifier suggestion.
