Hello Mannu,
The whole Korea stuff is not true atleast with my dealer where he gets from LG only ans still gives me @ 62K. I think you have to negotiate further with your guy. Still 65.8K is not a bad price, also not a very attractive one. Try your best.... Good luck :)
 
Hmmm. it's hard to believe that the same product is being procured differently in the same country.

Both are not full HD .

May be ezone links are messy...... they are not techy type to keep all specs correct... Since you got the TV delivered open it and see the manual ... And please post some pictures :-)

Man the people at my place are not budging at all from the price they have quoted plus noone else seems to have this display so that gives them an upper hand as well, so anyways what i want to know is that i want to wall mount this display, will that cost more or is the installation ( be it simple or wall mounted ) covered under the installation charges.

I am asking this because to wall mount they are demanding extra charges since wall mount does not come with the display and has to be purchased separately.

Also Plz do reply this time around, no one seems to be interested in helping anyone out here, i just asked for some of the dealers numbers at your respective places where some of you have been able to get it for a lesser price, it could have helped in saving a few 1000 bucks for me but noone came up, that is a very sorry state of affairs to say the least.

Mannu, sad to see that you aren't getting this model from other stores in Chandigarh. But, saying that no-one here seems interested in helping is neither correct nor will it help your cause. Please remember that getting help and that too in a strict time bound manner is not your right. People here have a life and jobs and they do their best to help others, many times going out of their way.

On the question of dealer telephone numbers in other places, if you go through a few posts on this forum, you'll find plenty of dealer names mentioned. Did you bother searching on the internet, checking LG's website, justdial, etc. for these and other dealers?

Apologies if the tone of this post sounds rude or offensive, but to make best use of this and other forums, one must do a lot of homework on one's own.

I don't know the answer to your new question on whether wallmounts are always included along with the TV.
 
In fact Mannu, I had already shared some dealer numbers in Bangalore

The deal size for 5 pieces is converging to 61990/- ) as today

and the wall mounts come separately, not box packed and the dealer has not charged separately for it.

Hey Mannu

The 1st time wall mounting is free from any manufacturer, be it Samsung, Panasonic, LG etc. Only when you shift to a new place and the plasma has to be removed, shifted and re-mounted at a different place, will you be charged. And that would be probably around 750 bucks or 1000 bucks.

Once again, please keep in mind that if they are charging you extra for wall mounting, they are trying to take you for a ride. I suggest that you ask for the wall mount kit, even if you don't plan to wall mount your plasma immediately, since the wall mount kit is sold outside for 1000 bucks and above, depending on type and brand. In fact here in Chennai, I found a company called Jenefas (www.jenefas.com) which makes all kinds of stands and mounts, and they have a stretchable plasma/LCD wall mount (you can pull your tv with the wall mount towards you about 16-20 inches, and turn the tv to the left and right about 45 degrees) which costs around Rs. 3750/-.

The PK550 50 inch plasma is available for 64k in Chennai from my dealer. Further negotiation might be possible. Please PM me for the dealer contact details.

Congrats Vivek, I also went to book the set today but maybe i am not as lucky, first of all on the price front the dealer was not budging at all, even after i talked to some of the dealers posted and confirmed from them that they were getting it from LG India only and the whole Korean argument was lucid and false. After all that i convinced myself to pay the extra price and get this all over with since i wanted to watch the world cup in HD, guess what here comes another shocker, they only have 1 piece in stock apart from the one is on display and the that too they will have to bring it from their godown, now i am thinking what if they are trying to sell me a demo piece, there will be no way to confirm that, FWIW they could pack a Demo piece which might be on display at some other shop and give it to me.

So to cut the long story short I had to drop my plans of getting this set as of now, what do you guys think, Did I make the right decision ?

Demo piece is dangerous particularly in case of plasmas. Members have got TVs with IR. How you avoid that is your skill. :) Particular case above is not any special case, it can happen anytime.
