Pro-Ject has introduced an all new fully automatic turn table called the A1
Clearly, this isn't anything remotely close to being a critical listening device or turntable.
For those heading into vinyl for the first time and don't want to deal with the complications of set up, this is a good place to start.
There are limitations such as lack of any real upgradability. You cannot swap out the cartridge nor can you change the inter connect cables. I don't believe any of this matters for the target audience of such a turntable. On the plus side, it comes fitted with an Ortofon OM10 cartridge.
This should be a good alternative to those Crossley record destroyers.
Some alternate fully automatic options are the Denon DP-29F, Denon DP-300F, Sony PS-LX310BT. This Pro Ject should easily stack up beside the Denon DP-300F
