Hello Friends.

Looking for a decent PJ. Trying to convince a friend to carry it from US who is coming India next month.

Current Configuration :
1. Decent 5.1 Speaker System
2. AVR with Same Dual HDMI Out. (No Problem of Switching)
3. Basic HTPC with NVIDIA GT 440 Graphic Card.

Requirements :
1. Will be mainly used in nights for HTPC Movies, HD DTH and occasional Gaming.
2. 720P will do. 3D Ready is preferable. Would prefer PJ to work as 3D with GT440.
3. Budget is $500 - 550
4. Can also consider LED PJ
5. Desired Screen Size is 110-120" Diagonal since viewing distance is approx. 15 Ft
6. Should be Invertible Mount PJ.

Would be using Manual Pull Down Display. Only Problem is that the throw distance is 16 Ft and I do not need more than 110-120" display.

Shortlisted models are Acer H5360 and Optoma HD66. Kindly give your valuable suggestions.

The projectors that i have suggested is 3D supported and that too out of the box.

No need for any graphics card or any 3D converters.

BTW both are 720p. & short throw ones .. :)

If you see the constraint I have pointed is 16' Throw Distance. I guess it will require Long Throw Projectors. Do you have any idea on how much will be the screen size from 16'?

Thanks.

That takes LED pjs out of the equation as most of them are short throw ones. Also double check before getting one if they have inverted image correction, even if they have provision for ceiling mounting. The LED Pj I got last month; Benq GP2 has a provision to be ceiling mounted; inverted, but only physically. There is no option thereon to correct the inverted image! However, I did not need to ceiling mount it, so no issue for me, but for those looking for the mounting in ceiling, it would have been a disaster!

Regards.

Really No good long throw projectors available ?

GT 750E with #d looks very promising.

Even if I settle for GT750E with Table Top option, calculator shows GT750E has to be placed 10" below the screen. Being Short throw, will it not affect center channel's effeciency ?

Although my channel is 8" in Ht, cant this PJ be used 18" below the screen?

To have a projector on table top is not a good idea, it is always better to have it ceiling mounted or at a fixed place on rear wall.

If the projector is a short throw, then it is best to have it mounted on cieling.
