You could buy a HD-65 projector, screen, and a garland and a bottle of scotch to celebrate your purchase for this price if you chose to import!hyeah:
Vinay, I think it is google-ads that is intelligently posting relevant ads. Since hifivision have added google ad-sense to the site, google posts the apt advertisements for that forum or even section. Google scans the page dynamically and when it finds the word "projector", it places an advertisement of a company which specialises in projectors. Sometimes Visualapex, sometimes projectorcentral etc.
The model works something like below:
For Eg: XYZ, a projector sales company want maximum mileage from their marketing spend. They buy google's ad services, which intelligently places the ads in all the right places. According to Google's research (web monitoring tools) they find that it makes sense to have a XYZ ad on hifivision. Google tools also make decisions that there is no point for a projector company to advertise in a forum meant for cooking. Google even advertises intellignetly based on sections in the forum - like ads from speaker companys in speaker section etc. Google shares portion of its earnings from all its ads with hifivision and everyone is happy everafter
.
[Vinay is an expert in his domain - Mutual Funds/Stocks etc while I shudder at the thought of investing in securities.
You have a very valid concern rshri but that is how electronics are. Either they fail in a short while or work forever. Am sure Vinay has thought about all this and then only taken the plunge. The AV hobby in general and importing electronics in particular is not for the faint heartedHello Vinay,
In ProjectorCentral site, two people have reported complaint of pink purple glow in Epson Powerlite display. Doesn't this makes you nervous? You will not have the option of sending it back for replacement if you see any such problem.
Hello Sri,
Thanks for the informative post.
I am happy to hear that you are confirming that in order to take a call it is better to trust a individual who has got good knoweldge and has no personal interest and take the confirmation from selective websites rather then depending upon the local stores, who themselves are likely to have extremely low knowledge and they are heavily biased to brands they carry, and often they will say all other brands are not good etc.
Wow you are quite ahead of your time, 2004 a first projector, very interesting, so there were things like 480P, so now you are using this for?
It is quite a tip that with certain forums we can extensively raise our queries, and have them often settled too. I have had two or three issues with my projector, and these guys come from the local store, try here and there, hardly solve the issue, take the money and just go, visit charges Rs.1,000/-, as though money grows elsewhere with ease.

Well this is the power of forum members, how such vital news is bought to the notice.
I had not seen this purple issue, surely i am now nervous. If such a thing happens with me too then i may get an opportunity to send the projector to America with some of our contacts, but it is going to be very difficult. I think some member had given me a hint that if there is any issue with the projector then within 24 hours, we have the opportunity to return it to SYW, so they can send it to the seller.

Hello Dushie,
In my case i am completely raw in importing goods from online stores but with help of forum members i have taken this import step and i am hoping that i will not have problems with the function of projector as it is being rated a number one buy by leading reviewer. On the other had our family has been in business of export and import for decades but i never got into personal import of electronic and other goods.
Among the risk management which i took was that got to hear good words about SYW, a forum member has transacted with them for about 20 times, and never they had any problem and there are 2 other members who have also had good experience with them but one of the member has had bad experience. While i saw to it that the projector was ordered from the seller from whom santosh had bought his projector.
