Well sid, you and others have given me a great idea to take from amazon and have it delivered locally on foreign soil, this will be fine with me as i have someone or the other once a year, who is travelling so i can time my purchase accordingly.

While sid you are giving very important tips that amazon replaced the items to you when they were not in order, so that is beyond great and it is nice to know that you also had great experience with visual on repeat basis, so this way we know who are for sure good organizations.

I think amazon must be working over time to handle shipment to India on door delivery basis, they will get flood of orders as money spending power is growing here and from the stores here things are getting difficult often in terms of price and old models.

Just came online and saw your message. Sorry was stuck since morning in getting my daughter's admission to DPS nursery class hence did not log in.

Just read through the posts. I beleive ordering from Amazon and shipping locally is not at all a challenge. I also bought my Hd20 from Amazon only and got it shipped to a friends place in US. The service and delivery was on time and good. So no worries there. Also one good thing about amazon is they have lot of sellers there and they clearly mention the warranty and if the product is new or used. So no worries there. Also most of the time i have seen that Amazon does not delay in shipping the product and would clearly mention the waiting period or delivery time for a particular product. Also you can track the shipping details online whether through FedEx or Ups.

Do let us know how this goes further, hopefully things should go smoothly now.

So santosh,this is the best way to go forward, that you too bought the projector from visual because a member had good experience in dealing with them, so this is how the chain builds of a reliable buying source, this could save us from certain crooks in the trade which exists in all types of business.

Re: SYW Update

Well last night after 8 messages SYW finally replied, but their game continues. The thing is this that they should update me on prompt basis for whatever is the position, as matter is going from worse to more worse.

They are telling me that visual did not accept the payment first time because it was via international card and they had asked for a wire transfer, this is something i already know so they are just repeating for nothing at all. I am asking them a very crucial thing that what payment term they had offered to visual in the first attempt because this card factor is of 2nd attempt, if in the first attempt also they had offered the card, then why have they offered 2nd time also the card.

Further they told me last night that visual will get back if they can take the new payment term or no which is that they will make payment through their America contact, so here again they are taking me for a ride, visual would have told them there and then if this mode is acceptable or no.

It is around 12 working days, till today they are not able to straighten the payment matter, so what kind of a company is this SYW. On the other hand it is a another story in 12 working days they were supposed to deliver me the projector.

Amazon - Ideas

Hello Dushie,

I had sent around 5 private messages to members requesting to see the thread, because i needed you guys advice so that i can take a call on amazon a/c other seller.

It is great to have a confirmation that this time the matter is likely to go without new hitches, while the main problem has been the handling of SYW, but now i think they are determined to get the things in order, they selected seller with a whooping 96% rating, further they agreed to pay higher price to seller laced with shipping costs and supply me at the agreed price for door delivery at my place which is Rs.81,000/- including customs duty, octri, courier, handling, etc.

So i am getting to know more and more about the organized concept, have goods shipped by amazon to foreign contact, collect it during your trip or the item is bought by contact's trip to our soil.

Since everyone is saying that the service of amazon is just too good, and they are the world leaders for such online store activity, just imagine how much more business they can get from India, if they start handling door delivery to people over here, in such a situation what would happen to the local stores here, is any body's guess, after all we are being often looted on price front and dumped with old models. Indeed the stores here have their set of problems, but as a customer that is not my concern.

It is a great risk management which amazon does that sellers have to stick on warranty's and the concept of rating's, does the best trick, while amazon would be taking many more such precautions so that the buyers and amazon are well protected from other type of people.

About tracking my projector shipment, which are the details i should ask from SYW, so that i can track myself so that i do not get some dirty hidden surprises.

I will surely let you'll know what is happening and this what i have been doing aggressively all this while.

Yes, vinay it is the right move, also if you have the details of the order placed, like order no, you can track the shipment movement from the seller to SYW and then track how much time they take to deliver locally.

Well i have now already ordered from reseller in amazon, henceforth will be careful and shall toe your line.

It is indeed much better to buy from where we want to then let others decide the buying source. The links which you have given is a better buying source, i did try to buy from one of them but what to do things did not work out, but be assured this will not happen next time.

SYW - Delivery Status

Well on my enquiry, i have been advised by SYW that the projector has been shipped on 13th by the merchant to their fulfillment center in Delaware, and they are expecting to get it by today or tomorrow, thereafter they will ship it by next day to India.

In other words within 8 days from now i should get the projector.

Hello Sri,

During this 2nd attempt of SYW, they are very active with evidence as to how things are moving which is very good.

Well they say beggars can not be choosy, i should be grateful that i get the projector and story ends.

If i do not get the projector in next few days then i will gift them a hdmi cable so that they can tie round their neck and commit a suicide in 1080p style but before that they have to refund my money.

However one thing is interesting that it seems they have paid a higher price for the projector and they will also have to bear the new cost of shipping though i will be getting the projector at price and terms agreed upon.

Well the projector has arrived at fulfilment center, and today it will leave for Mumbai, i hope the pilot will land the plane soon and hope flight will not be diverted or hijacked.
