Many a time when I read someone's posts and later suddenly find out that he or she is a dealer or in some way connected to business, I start revising my judgement on some of the opinions or expert advices that person has been giving. In some other forums where I am a member, things are much more transparent in that the person becoming a member has to compulsorily declare whether, for example, he or she is just a music lover or dealer or distributor or rep or reviewer or manufacturer or music industry professional. This helps us to more critically review the posts and express our own opinions. Here, only occupation is sought while registering as a member but that is a bit vague and not fully transparent. A music lover or music industry professional is here for purely personal interests whereas business interests may take precedence among others. Nothing wrong in this but still it helps to get a better perspective.

Moderators and other members may wish to consider this suggestion or trash it.

Thanks.

This is not a bad idea at all. And if I am not mistaken, this has been discussed before, on this forum. Most times, advice on this forum (and internationally) by professionals is given free of bias, but it is in fact in an industry professional's interest to declare their commercial interest upfront, so that their genuine advice is not discounted later.

I think some Indian forums(team bhp) have a section in which to declare commercial affiliations

Dealers whether declared or not, will always try to speak for their products. Some dealers are honest enough to high-light all the pros and cons. I have mate some dealers who have expressed their disappointment in their products because when they start selling something new they also don't know about its durability and support in future. In the end, after discussion in the online forums you will eventually have to encounter the dealer. At that stage you should trust your ears (and eyes).

That is why, most people here though recommend their personal choices but always advice for as much audition as possible.
When it comes to pricing, dealer or no dealer, here we always come to know about the best of the pricing available in the market.
And in " For Sale " section, I have always seen a fair description about the product by the seller and deals are fair too.
I have personally learned a lot from the experts around here and hence ended up buying a decent gear and am proud of my decisions !!!
