Quick check to find if remote is working

I got this from an electronics mechanic recently when I saw him repair a TV remote.
Switch on your mobile phone camera and hold the remote under it with the IR emitter facing the camera. Operate the remote. If it is working, the IR light will be seen in the camera.

intresting observation. will check it for remotes that dont respond anymore.

also you can take the remote in dark room and press buttons. you will see faint/ low glow of rd led light only in dead dark room

This is a known trick and the post is useful for those who are not aware of it. One can even make a night vision camera using IR LEDs.

Works. The IR light can be seen in the camera. Also had an airtel remote that was not working and the IR light was not visible when the remote was operated.
