ReBangalore DIY workshop?

It's silent because I need Anilva to be back here and free to meet up to finalize the agenda. I think the late Nov date is still on AFAIK, even though you wont be in town then!

Santhosh

I'm hoping to spare some time next week to meet Anil and then post programme. Looks like either Nov 26th or maybe first weekend in Dec are the most likely options.

We will post a tentative list of topics by next week that we can cover in 2-3 1/2 day sessions, while trying to keep things interesting. Once we do that we can refine the list and come up with a final list of topics.

Hi,

We all (or at least many of us) are eagerly waiting for the list of topics so that we can plan accordingly. Is it likely to be put up anytime soon?

Regards.

I am on-call 24/7 standby the entire latter half of thanksgiving week so cant make it :(

Ok here's the latest- I will contact Raghu and ask him if he can arrange use of Anutone Hall for this coming Sunday-Nov 27th. Preference is for the forenoon, session will be of around 3 hours including networking. In case forenoon is not available then we will look at post lunch.

The first subject will be speakers for audio only(including subwoofers)-which will cover the subject in as much detail as possible. At this time there will be three or four speakers, and we will list out the subjects to be covered during the next few days, with minor changes to accommodate additions/deductions based on feedback.

We will plan to have a second session covering other areas like room treatment, amplifiers etc subsequently.

Since there would also be a few outstation members coming as far as Allahabad, it would be helpful if sufficient time is given. 27th is too early IMHO.

Hi George,

I agree with Captrajesh. In fact in an earlier post, you had yourself mentioned that the workshop date would be notified sufficiently in advance, say two weeks ahead, to enable outside members to attend. The coming Sunday is too near a date to enable us to do so.

I would also be nice if the two workshops could be held on two consecutive days thereby saving outstation members one outward and return jourey.

Regards.

Ok, let's do Dec 4th? I am sure all of us would welcome the idea of having some of you guys come from out of town, as well as have as many local guys attending if they need a bit more notice..I am not comfortable with a date after Dec 4th, because both Anil and I have some commitments after that. If we postpone after Dec 4th then we may move into Jan end.

Miroflex:

We may not be able to do 2 sessions back to back, from a practical perspective. There is a lot to cover in one session, weekends are an issue, and out speakers may also not be free for making presentations.

Based on the success of this workshop we plan another one sometime later-we will definitely give you enough notice to come from Allahabad again!

Hope you understand.

Ok latest news is that Raghu and I talked and he has very kindly confirmed that Anutone should be able to make the same place as our Bangalore meet available to us on Sunday.Dec 4th in the forenoon. We will plan to meet around 9.30-10.00AM, and wind up around 1.00-1.30PM

The agenda will be posted soon, there will NOT be any auditioning of music this time. Please consider this similar to a cookery demonstration type of session, and not a buffet lunch/langar! Hopefully we will get tea/coffee from Anutone.

Accordingly following the same pattern as last time, Raghu will post, confirming the date and venue and all those who are planning to attend, please PM Raghu and provide your personal email ids so that we save bandwidth, and only communicate with participants.

Our tentative plan is to have an introduction 4 presentations, and each followed by Q & A. We will provide some time for networking both prior to and post the workshop. If anyone has any suggestions about how to make the workshop more meaningful, do chime in.

Cheers
