Hi,

My entire CD & DVD collection is now in FLAC & MKV/MP4, & loaded onto my SYNOLOGY NAS.

I am currently using my AC RYAN HDMIed to my YAMAHA AV (RX-V1800). For music, I set my AV to Pure Direct on 2.0-CH. For videos, its a regular 7.1.

I would like to trade up from my AC RYAN to the likes of a CAMBRIDGE AUDIO CXN, but I need a player that can transcode video files too.

Looking forward to some suggestions :licklips:

Give a shot at the Raspberry Pi and should meet all your requirements if paired with a quality DAC for audiophile experience and for video the HDMI port will be sufficient.

I use a combination of Raspberry Pi, Chromecast Audio/Video, Roku, and similar endpoints to stream to multiple locations from my Synology.

Depends on whether you are looking to stream to one location or several, but the addition of a NAS negates the need for a network streamer/player like the CXN IMHO.
