Hello Friends,

I have been here for few months, reading this forum daily more than fb now!!!:cool::cool:

I just bought rpi3 B+ and allo Piano 2.1.

RP3b+ came with a sdcard preloaded with noobs. this has a VLC player on it.

But this OS doesnt detect the Piano2.1.

What OS need to be installed to detect DAC and use this for Music 75% and Movies 25%?

Any help appreciated. thank you..

For music
Download Volumio for raspberry Pi from here and save the file
https://volumio.org/get-started/
Download Etcher if you are using windows
https://www.balena.io/etcher/
install etcher in pc
connect sd card to usb using card reader
select the volumio image we earlier downloaded in etcher and flash it to sd card
put sd card in pi , conect a usb drive with music to pi
power on , volumio will create a wifi hot spot , search wifi in your mobile and select volumio network ,default passwprd is volumio2
connect to that network and in most mobile you will be auto prompted to volumio gui if not type 192.168.211.1 or http://volumio.local in mobiles browsers address. it will propt tosetup select your card ie piano 2.1 . After setup from the gui you can play he files

For movies
download osmc or openELAC flash it and boot

Thank you so much Kannan, installed volumio. Playing well. Is piano 2.1 has the burn out period?
OSMC should be loaded on another sdcard, correct?

You can use OSMC to play music also but you have to use a monitor or tv to browse files . OSMC can be controlled from KODI remote app from playstore .

I am not sure any boot manager app is ther for this setup to switch between OS to avoid card swapping

I was thinking playing Netflix in kodi
Kodi has add ons for just about anything, but not all of them are "official" and not all of them work seamlessly. It sounds doable, you may have to spend some time in trial amd error. I have spent several hours in trial and error on the rpi2 :)

Plex is another similar software (not sure if its open source). It has a free version as well as a premium service. I havent tried it though and im not sure if it can run on the Rpi

Problem
The I heard a big noise while using osmc that could even damage the speakers!!! It was the mouse move sounds when it moves over the options. Any clue? After a restart I couldn't recreate it.

Does anyone has any experience of using Raspberry Pi3 with Schiit Uber2 DAC or Raspberry Pi4 with piano2.1 DAC ?

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
